Grow Mediums Anthropolis Does Kindsoil Live testing for the CannaZone

Hey friends! Checking in with some pics. A couple looking really rough, and a couple looking okay. Decided to stick with the water program even though a couple of the KindSoil ladies are hungry. It's for science lol. Still don't think it has anything to do with the KindSoil, considering everyone's looks amazing and mine are monkey butts lol. I'll still be buying more in the future. :headbang:

The KindSoil side:
Cream Mandarine XL looking pretty sad, it's not going to make much of anything at all now, which is sorta depressing since it had the lead for awhile:
20160806_090527.jpg

The Blackberry Stone is fair, very pretty leaves:
20160806_090543.jpg

The new Tombstones are free from the humidity domes, they're a little freaked out from the strong bloom light from the Mars:
20160806_090551.jpg

20160806_090555.jpg

My soil side:
I've fed mine a very strong hit of General Organics, Equilibrium, and Microblast to hopefully squash whatever deficiencies are going on.
The Blackberry Stone multipots are good, one getting a bit crowded as it got a three female roll of the dice hehe:
20160806_090633.jpg

20160806_090615.jpg

Cream Mandarine XL looking fair, not great budding going on yet though:
20160806_090649.jpg

The Red Poison is now in the lead, looking rough but okay, comparatively lol, starting to show some color:
20160806_090722.jpg

The whole episode has been rather disheartening to be honest, I had everything all planned out great (at the beginning lol) but it's been nothing but problems. I'm still a big fan of the product though! My tent hasn't been a fair showing of it so far.

Quickie ups, it's moving along as good as it's going to lol. I was feeling a bit blue about it, but decided not to let it get me down and just make the best of it. There's some unusual environmental factors at work too: something has shifted in the aquifer water supply, it's gotten very warm temperature wise and had a large pH shift from the typical 8.3 to 7.2. And the local farmers had mysteriously devastated crops this summer. So, something is seriously up, it's not just my plants. My veggies and fruit did horrible this summer too, and I've been working my damn ass off out there on the gardens!! Harder than I've ever worked, and the worst grows yet lol.

After this terrible round, I'll be scraping all my soil stock and sourcing different water for the canna. I might go back to collected rainwater or I might do the environmentally unfriendly thing lol of buying water and dragging it home. I'm leaning towards getting a few of those big 5gal jugs and filling them at those $0.97 cent / gallon "spring water" fill-it-yourself stations. At least that way I'll know it's clean and consistent.

So there's a plan at least hah! For now, it's looking rough... Seriously bad. I'm still just giving the KindSoil ladies pH'ed water. The ones in my side have gotten several strong feedings now and are almost stabilized.

KindSoil side:
20160811_090759.jpg

The Cream Mandarine XL is the one in serious trouble lol. The lil Tombstones are so darn cute!
But the Blackberry Stone is looking halfway nice and almost performing okay, I think I see a hint of color too yay:
20160811_090810.jpg

My soil side is fair, I think only the strong feedings are holding em together lol:
20160811_090825.jpg

The Red Poison is beginning it's famed colorings:
20160811_090847.jpg

That's what I got for now, it's been a less than stellar performance lol, but I maintain that this is absolutely no fault of the KindSoil and I still believe in it enough to buy more.

Hola friends! Update on my cooked herb tent lol, it's just a mess but it is whatever it is. Switched to bottled water, pH'ed to good ol 6.3, but not going to make any difference at this point hah. Soil pH still normal...but temps are bad. I'm working on how to salvage my cred next round lol.

KindSoil side:
Cream Mandarine XL is not well, it's just going to be whatever... The smoke isn't going to happen but it'll end up fine in some canna coconut oil!
20160815_174104.jpg

Blackberry Stone is less horrific lol, this phenotype has very little branching like that uni-cola shape, kinda cool to see, I had another one do that too.
20160815_174113.jpg

Her top is pretty!:
20160815_174120.jpg

The Tombstones are great so far, wayyy too tight of nodes just because of growing up under the bloom spectrum, that's fine though.
20160815_174135.jpg

Just one Tombstone is a micro mini:
20160815_174140.jpg

My soil side: looking partially crappy haha but hanging on.
Red Poison is all freaked out from something, I think it's the temps today, it hit 108 lol. Definitely also got the deficiency...:
20160815_174259.jpg

Cream Mandarine XL is struggling but alive, be a miracle if it makes anything either:
20160815_174318.jpg

This Blackberry Stone is looking almost okay!:
20160815_174336.jpg

The Blackberry Stone trio pot is fighting each other a little bit but is halfway okay...one is definitely trying to color up!:
20160815_174352.jpg

All for now, sorry it sucks :(

Update on Anthro's crispy fried chicken fingers tent lmao! It's umm, well it's proceeding lol. Reflecting back now that it's worse, I had the same problems last round with a Skywalker. I thought I had adequately treated my soil stock before this round with lotssss of flushing, lime, fresh ammendments, and all that jazz... But evidently I was wrong! So, we're going to just ride it out, it's too late now to even break from the test protocols and attempt any fixes.

I do know what needs to be done going forward, time to start the soil stock all over fresh. That's going to be a couple hundred dollars at least. I'm feeling pretty crappy about the embarrassingly bad looking plants and it not giving the KindSoil a fair shake, but hey, life has tough lessons sometimes lol. I am absolutely planning on a redo-redux grow with KindSoil soon, I have faith!! Just look at y'alls plants! Gorgeous! :)

Anyway on with the embarrassing photos lol.
KindSoil side ladies:
The Cream Mandarine XL is camel farts haha:
20160819_183659.jpg

But the Blackberry Stone is going to squeak by without total disaster I think, it's got some pretty flowers and good trichomes:
20160819_183711.jpg

The baby Tombstones haven't had time to get hurricane-katrina'ed yet lmao, but some early def signs starting up:
20160819_183734.jpg

20160819_183741.jpg

Side with just my soil:
Red Poison is sure trying hard, it'll make something but won't be winning any medals:
20160819_183753.jpg

This Cream Mandarine XL is also bob saget lol, shame it could have been a cool phenotype too with those super sativa fingers:
20160819_183802.jpg

Blackberry Stone solo pot is trying hard too, gonna be good quality but very low yield:
20160819_183814.jpg

These Blackberry Stones are starting to have troubles especially fighting each other, but should still make a few grams :/
20160819_183821.jpg

Okay friends, keep it rockig awesome up in here! Peace and love

Well my saga continues as it has been lol. The good news is that I've almost gotten everything set up for a redemption round after this. Got about $250 put into all new soil-related-everything, probably mix everything and start it cooking this weekend. That'll be good timing as it'll cook for a month or so about when this round winds down.
The KindSoil ladies side:

Cream Mandarine XL is really sad, but it tried!
20160823_171432.jpg

This Blackberry Stone is so far the only one that is making smokable grade product. Only one with trichomes at least... I think the others may all be destined for oil caps, and that's okay.
20160823_171443.jpg

The Tombstone triple pots: the R pot had two confirmed males just culled, with the remaining confirmed female! The L pot has 1 confirmed female, 2 unknown yet. That def is starting to show.
20160823_171453.jpg

My soil side: not much change. Getting those fried looking pistils with no trichomes in site, confirming that this is the same thing that went down with my last troubled Skywalker. Thus confirmation that either my soil or water has gone on a poopy failboat ride down the river of Hades lmao! (I'm trying to stay light-hearted about it all)

Red Poison: tall and looks like it sure is trying,
20160823_171510.jpg

This Cream Mandarine XL is just total fail, pretty structure but just no bud... If it weren't for my love for Red Poison, my feelings for Sweet Seeds might be damaged beyond repair lol
20160823_171517.jpg

The lonestar Blackberry Stone in my soil is fair, no trichs yet but it may yet still produce smoking grade product!
20160823_171529.jpg

The triple pot Blackberry Stone in my soil is not doing well now, getting those burnt pistils, bad def, maybe fighting each other's roots is exacerbating the common def. Still, it'll be just fine for cooking in oil.
20160823_171537.jpg

So there we are right now, it's been a rough way to learn the my soil/water combo will no longer work going forward. Yet, I'm feeling okay with it. I have almost a full bag of additional KindSoil that I'd bought, gonna be buying one more, and maybe I can redeem myself next round.

Update! They're actually looking less awful lately, I noticed the past couple inspections that they were more cheerful. It's probably the couple weeks on bottled water, plus temps are finally under 100F. (it seriously peaked at 112°F last week lol!). I might come out with a couple more plants of medical grade than I thought. A few are still definitely going into oil still though.

KindSoil side:
This one is still Bob Saget lol (that's a Tourettes Guy from YouTube reference if you're wondering wtf lol). I'm just waiting for the pain to end haha.
20160830_191324.jpg

The Blackberry Stone has been flopped over against the wall the past few days, it's not like it's a giant tree or anything, just didn't make enough stalk. So it's awkwardly staked up now. The bud is starting to look beautiful too!

Tombstones picking up the pace now, I think they're on track for good medicine!
20160830_191357.jpg

+ the solo pot Tombstone especially shaping up fine:
20160830_191412.jpg

My soil side improved a bit, finally getting some trichomes on the Sweet Seeds, although the defs are still going to greatly impact yields. I've been brewing up AACT+Myco teas to innoculate my new soil that is cooking, and my side plants will get the next tea. So far they've still just been fed a few times, otherwise just water, so I expect they'll really respond to a tea!

The Cream Mandarine XL is slightly improved, a wee bit more mass and finally making trichs, still might not be smoke grade:
20160830_191506.jpg

Red Poison is noticeably improved, good ol Red P colors setting in, trichs finally, slightly more mass but still way low for her size:
20160830_191611.jpg

Blackberry Stone lone star is also improved, not winning any medals lol but finally might be headed for medicinal grade! Smells are off the hook on this one, it wouldn't look it, but it's very strong of grape drank scents hehe!
20160830_191646.jpg

The trio Blackberry Stones are very slightly better, but still didn't handle the struggle very well together. Might get a few grams from the lot, still as of yet might be heading for the crock pot hehe! :p
20160830_191711.jpg

There we are for now, spirits are up a bit. It may not be total disaster I thought it was heading for lol.

Here's my humble entry (for the contest), Blackberry Stone autoreg, I trimmed off a few crispies. Still some time left so it might put on a couple more grams. Needed staking just bc the stem was floppy. An ok plant though.

I'm happy to report that things are looking up even more! It's been quite the recovery, thanks to some cleaner water and lower temps. Been some interesting lessons, that's for sure! They've been getting bottled RO water and occasional bottled "Spring water" which of course we know is just filtered tap water from somewhere lol. There's still some crispies but things are on track for mostly quality flower now, aside from the one deathstar plant that was hopeless hah. I still think my soil is partly to blame, it's just not the ecosystem it's supposed to be, but the plants are fighting less with it now than they were.
-
KindSoil side:
We'll start with the disaster lady, it's about 1/2 dead now, but I'm keeping it going for science! I do expect natural death to occur soon. She just couldn't handle the hell she was dealt.
20160906_124144.jpg

The KindSoil Blackberry Stone is ever yet more pretty! Had to re-stake it up better again, still a couple crispy chips but doing great overall now!
20160906_124157.jpg

+ It might not be making a big amount, but the flower is looking really good, and lookie lookie it is trying harder to color up!
20160906_124206.jpg

The quad Tombstone gals are much improved too, just one is a little yellowish. Really excited for these! I'm itching for a fresh nighttime medicine. The trio pot doesn't seem to be fighting each other, which has me impressed.
20160906_124239.jpg

+ The solo pot Tombstone is now on track to be my best KindSoil lady later, as long as it doesn't crash out on me lol.
20160906_124257.jpg

---

My soil side is very dramatically improved, they've also received the cleaner water of course, plus one AACT/Myco tea.
-
The Red Poison is prettying up, flower mass improvement, and in the middle of the red/purp transition!
20160906_124318.jpg

+ Purdy pic from yesterday, cola is very nice.
20160905_095539.jpg

The Cream Mandarine XL is coming around, more mass, trichomes improved, overall happier.
20160906_124335.jpg

Blackberry Stone is better, very faint coloring started, smells are out of this world of berry candy / grape drank lol, trichs improved.
20160906_124343.jpg

The trio Blackberry Stones are slightly better, appear generally happier, seems to be fighting each other less. Still just a few grammers each but that's all good.
20160906_124400.jpg

All for now, peace and love friends!

I just want to take a big bite out of this Blackberry Stone hahaa!
20160909_174124.jpg

Greetings citizens! Thy time has come for the bequeathment of the updates! Gather 'round the fire, grab your marshmallows and roast your wienies... Or grab your wieners and, uh nevermind lol!

KindSoil side: looking almost normal now aside from Skeletor hahaa:
20160911_182940.jpg

42432108.jpg

Strange that it was originally the rockstar of the group. I told her all them cigarettes and crack rocks ain't gonna be no good lol!

Blackberry Stone is really coming through now! Couple crispies but no big. Flowers are on point! It's extra leafy and hiding some good herb up under the skirt.
20160911_182950.jpg

Tombstone quad squad is rolling on quite fairly, with the trio getting along very nicely now, and the solo babe really lifting off better than a spacex rocket hahaa! Just one of the trio pot has a little case of the yellows, but it's also the biggest, and I'm thinking that looks like nute burn actually, not a def.
20160911_183028.jpg

My soil side: getting on the proper track now!
Far from perfect but I'll take it!

Red Poison: about pulled all the fan leaves, but buds are on track.
20160911_183042.jpg

Cream Mandarine XL also about sucked up the fans, bud could be better but will be fair to good when done. Love those lankie lassie sati fingers! Hardly see those much on autos:
20160911_183046.jpg

Blackberry Stones in my soil are much improved, although they seem far behind the KindSoil one, that could just be random but mine were in trouble for a while there and that probably set em back.
20160911_183055.jpg

Trio getting along okay now, not winning any medals from the Department of Weights and Measures lol but I'm not cryin about it. :)
20160911_183100.jpg

All for now friends! Peace and love!
