Welcome Friends! Thanks for stopping by my test of the awesome KindSoil! All of my specifications can be found in the introduction sticky. Thanks again!

I'm finally in the dirt lol. Have some doubts about the germ rates this time, not all had tails on planting, so we'll see. The 4 pots on the right are the KindSoil.

Got two children above the dirt, both Cream M XLs. They all popped nicely, it's the Red Poison germ rates I'm worried 'bout. The RP beans were older, so they might be a bit slower to find the light.

Can tell already the one on the R will be the first girl to reach the buried treasure lol, the KindSoil.

Quickie ups, not much to show yet. Here's the 3 dud pots, just got repopulated with 3x each of Blackberry Stone auto regs. {if anyone's curious, Blackberry Stone is (Stone Dragon original) x (Dutch Passion Blackberry Kush auto) by an upper member here on AFN.}

Here's the 5 Sweet Seeds that did take. The pots with a yellow flag are the KindSoil. Not much to see yet, if you've seen one seedling you've seen em all hah. Just showing for completeness.

I'm all above soil now, some of the Sweet Seeds seedlings struggling a little bit... Not quite sure what's up with that except some beans were old and it's over 100°F in there daily lol. Honestly it'll be a miracle if they all make it through summer lol! I did get 9 for 9 on the Blackberry Dragon multi repopulation of the dud pots, so that's awesome!

The one rockstar gal Cream Mandarine XL is really doing well. She's gonna rule the round I think.

Mine are mostly okay, a couple great and a couple not so great.

Two of the original seedlings are just stalled out just past the cotyl stage... I think it's the heat but oh well. They're technically alive so I'm keeping em going. Sadly they're two seedlings in the KindSoil, so they might be forever stunted and not make the best use of the KindSoil. Oh well, it's just how the dice rolls sometimes with using beans.

So here's the KindSoil gals, that one rockstar Cream Mandarine XL has definitely hit the buried treasure KindSoil haha. It's just blowing up, and doesn't seem to even notice the heat hah!
PhotoGrid_1468244505616.jpg

See the two stalled seedlings there, and they're the nice Sweet Seeds beans so I don't want to cull them. :/ If they were freebie beans I might have culled em already and started yet again. We'll see, some of my best plants started with troubles, stunts, or mutations. Funny how that works sometimes.

Here's the ones in just my soil, doing fair to well. No problems but no big growth spurts yet. I'd say they are about average for my plants at this stage.

Everybody does seem to like the Root Trapper II pots, it's clearly retaining water better (than the full fabric pots) and the state of the soil seems more uniform throughout. With those older style fabric pots, the soil seems to make these zones where it's crispy dry on top and around the sides, halfway moist in the center, and forever wet on the bottom. Root Trappers seem to be performing more smoothly.

Everyone all together now, those three mini trees in the middle are my awkward hempy solo cups attempt. Struggling to keep those fed and watered.

And I put the two strugglers back under humidity cups until they can get with the program lol and show me some real leaves.

A few of mine are coming along nicely, a couple looking interesting now, but the two stalled seedlings haven't changed in over a week grrr... That great test I had all planned out is a crushed dream by now lol. It's down to bandaids and duct tape hah! All plants are still getting just pH'ed well water, using Earth Juice crystals, the pH down specifically, bringing the water from ~8.2 to 6.3.

First the KindSoil babies, the one rockstar Cream Mandarine XL is really rockin hard, got pistils starting up too.
20160716_075619.jpg

The triple potted Blackberry Stone is shaping up okay. I suspect they're a few days to a week from hitting the KindSoil and a good growth spurt. One is moving faster, I wonder if it's male.
20160716_075626.jpg

And the two stuck babies, I'm losing faith in them. Everyone's had some slow starters before, but this is way too long. They're the same age as the other Sweet Seeds but not doing anything. I'm trying to come up with a solution... At this point I guess it's time to pull them and replace. Again, I'm out of autofems, so it would have to be more multipots of auto reg beans. :/

Ughhh.. It is what it is. Sorry my test is going so flawed guys lol.

The ones in just my soil are fine, the older set is not nearly as big as the one in KindSoil as I expected. Still looking just fine for this stage.
20160716_075713.jpg

Should have pistils soon. This one is a little behind.
20160716_075719.jpg

The multipot dragons look fun, never done any multipotting to sex out males before.. It's kinda fun seeing three in one pot!
20160716_075724.jpg

Don't know why those thrree are smaller, except being a few more inches from the lamp.
20160716_075730.jpg

That's all I got for now. :p I'll come up with some fix for the stalled ones.

Oh hey just a quick accounting thing: I did repopulate my two stalled seedling pots a couple days ago. Now home to triple potted Tombstone auto regs! Tombstone is (Stone Dragon original x COTC Narcotic Kush), so I'm excited that it might make some great night time insomnia knockout meds. Triple potted again to sex out the males. As of this morning 4 of 6 were poking up above the soil, pics in a day or two when everyones facing skyward. :p
Hopefully this will be the last of the seedling startup problems, as I've covered about every hiccup so far lmao!

But hey, problems are just opportunities in disguise!

Update, things starting to get fun and interesting now! I lost electricity for a day so a couple stretched. First the KindSoil ones:

The big girl Cream Mandarine XL is doing just wonderfully, although I did just notice that she ate her lowest leaf set already, which is odd, but no big deal, certainly haven't seen any defs. Pistils poping out all over, great branching!
20160721_110736.jpg

The Blackberry Stone autoreg trio is coming up fine, wide variance of sizes though, no definite sexes showing yet but should be soon.
20160721_110742.jpg

Here's the newly repopulated KindSoil pots, they were a Sweet Seeds Cream Mandarine XL and Red Poison, now Tombstone autoregs. Got 6 for 6 germination!

20160721_110834.jpg

---
Here's the ones in just my soil:
Suddenly the Red Poison stretched out and is caught up to the height of the CMxl in the KindSoil, but doesn't have the tight nodes and great branching.
20160721_111208.jpg

The Cream Mandarine XL in my soil isn't looking really excellent, but is healthy at least.
20160721_111146.jpg

This Blackberry Stone trio is looking great, with the biggest one confirmed female! It's the only one to show yet. I have no good theory on why this trio all look much better than the others, everyone gets the same light and water, it might just be a weird dice roll, or maybe hit a poorly mixed nutrient rich warm spot in my soil of just that pot. Who knows lol. I really love the big bottom Right one, that's the confirm female, with those super fat indica sausage fingers haha!
20160721_111226.jpg

This Blackberry Stone trio is okay, it's in the other top corner and got a little whispy and stretchy, so I'm starting to think my new Mars isn't hitting the top two corners well enough. It should be more even soon when I raise the lamp and fire up the Bloom led banks too, which will be in maybe a week or two. I might move things around some more too.
20160721_190422.jpg

Here's the tent all together now, it's finally shaping up to a proper looking grow! Well, seedling restart hiccups aside lol.
20160721_111741.jpg

I'd take that scrog frame out but it helps the tent keep shape under the heavy exhaust / negative pressure I keep in there which kinda sucks in the sides lol.

I did a complete pH test workup with the Accurate 8 tonight, all tested pretty normal dry and damp, my topsoil is about 6.5 and the KindSoil below is about 6.3.

Now a couple of the plants in my soil are eating on the lowest leaves... So it must be narrowed down to my topsoil as the culprit. Maybe the heat is finally taking its toll. I'm not stressing it though. Darnit I was really hoping for a trouble free grow round haha! :p That one is looking worse, but guess we just gotta let it ride. It's all good, not losing any sleep over it. This is still the most fun my tent has seen all year! And really that it's making anything in this heat is a miracle lol!

Quick Peeks!: the KindSoil side: all 6 Tombstones are skward, the 3 Blackberry Stones are growing well with 1 verified female, and the Cream Mandarine XL is still bold n pretty. (notice temp 102 today lol)

20160726_202411.jpg

My side: 6 Blackberry Stones doing well with only 1 confirmed female yet, the Red Poison is doing great but stretchy, the Cream Mandarine XL is just okay. My side is looking more green just because of the seedling resets I had to do on the other side, but those on my side also have received a couple doses of Microblast and Equilibrium (calmag) otherwise just water.

Couple of mine looking rougher, tested pHs again and it's golden, going to hit the charts and books today and figure out exactly what it is. I think it's an acute deficiency now, and have a few ideas what's going on, and the extreme heat is probably exacerbating it. Going to calibrate my Oakton to be sure I'm not giving them wrongly adjusted water, but I suspect it's my darn soil. Got some thinking and tough choices to make. Thinking it's time to clear out my entire (expensively assembled lol) soil stock and start fresh next round.

KindSoil ladies: the Cream Mandarine XL is into flower but showing def, two males culled from the multipot leaving 1 confirmed female showing def too, and the new Tombstones are about to lose their humidity domes:

My soil ladies: several males culled from the multipots with some showing def, the Cream Mandarine XL in the bottom left looking ok but hungry with very sativa fingered phenotype, the Red Poison on bottom right now the tallest plant and showing deficiency too:
