So I took a break from autos to grow a couple of photos. The reason was to train myself in topping, LST and defoliation. Not that I didn't know how to do any of that but just to hone my skills and have the time to do it.

My set up is as follows:

4X4X7 tent, two 900 W full spectrum LED lights with bloom and veg switches, 165 CFM exhaust fan, 20" Box fan for circulation, two 5 gallon buckets for DWC, one 18 gallon external reservoir with valves, H20 lines, and filtered and PH'd wellOP water. Seeds were germinated in rapid rooter pods then transferred to 6" net pots with hydroton. Each bucket has 3.75 gallons of water. I am using HydroGrow because H2O temp is in upper 70's due to deep south climate. I am using Advanced Nutrients PH Perfect micro, grow and bloom and supplementing with Voodoo Juice, Big Bud, B-52, Overdrive and Flawless Finish to round it out.

So I planted one each Power Africa and White Widow from Seedsman Seeds on January 3rd. The grow has been pretty much uneventful as far as anything bad happening to the plants, just a little leaf tip burn from over feeding early on. Began topping both at the 3rd node week 4 and then topped every new growth for the next month. It seemed the topping gave a signal to the Africa to grow more and grow faster. By the end of the veg phase it had grown to almost 3 times the size of the Widow. Training it was an almost every day occurrence. So much so it began to overshadow the Widow.

Once flowering began, LST played a big part in keeping the Africa to a manageable size. It was growing taller than my lights could handle. Had to start tying from the top of the tent as well as the sides and bottom:

And here we are at week 21. The last round of defoliation is done. The Widow is looking like it will be the 1st one to be harvested. Will probably start flushing it with flawless Finish this week. The Africa still has a week or 2 to go before I start flushing it.

@Sgt pepper, I've never been the greatest picture taker but I gave it another try with just the room lights and I think these are better then the last.

Appreciate the interest.
I hope these new pictures give you a better idea of what they look like. One thing of note though, Temperatures here in the deep South are unusually higher than normal for this time of year. We've been running in the mid to upper 90's for the last week and it is a job to try to keep the tent as cool as possible but haven't been very successful. High temperature in the tent has been 90°. The lights are off from 7am-7pm, and humidity is 35%-45%. I've been using ice packs in the water and giving an extra shot of hydro guard to help. Outside of buying a small air conditioner, this is the best I've come up with for now.
