I have learned so much from this forum by reading grow logs that other people have created. Posts on this forum provide for a unique opportunity for the community to pass on and exchange knowledge with novices like me. I am a full-time student with a part-time job, so it would be very difficult for me to be consistent in keeping up with a grow log. Therefore, I will use this space to provide some random pictures in the development of the AKR that I grew over the past couple of months.
The Grow: Out of the three strains that I started on the same date (8/21), AKR was the fastest vegging, fastest flowering, and most stretched out. Thats 2/3; not bad. I wish I could have stopped it from stretching, but I had to keep raising the light so that the top nugs wouldn't burn. AKR is the only strain that stretched like that. I also am growing an SAS and a la diva (they're not ready yet). Attached you will find some pictures. You can identify AKR as the largest and eventually the most stretched out plant in the mini garden, that is my closet.
The Harvest: The nugs have been curing for about 3 days now (it just keeps getting better and better) after they dried for 5 days. I only yielded about 50 grams off of her, but that's more than enough for a personal smoker like me. Also, I have two more coming down any day now....!!!!
The Smoke: NARCOTIC. Without being told it's an indica, you will most definitely feel the indica effects after smoking. It does lift you up in the first 5-15 minutes after smoking; however, after that initial soaring high, the couch-lock sets in hard. Wherever you're sitting, you might be there for a while. In my opinion, this would be an excellent bedtime strain for individuals with pain (specifically, back/neck pain) and those who have a difficult time falling asleep and/or staying asleep. I woke up this morning feeling very refreshed, and so did the muscles in my body (especially in my back, neck and shoulders; pretty much my whole torso). The delicious, sweet smell/taste of the bud combined with it's medicating effects make this a great strain. In my short experience, I would give AKR a 8.8/10. It lost points for the stretch, but gained points for being so quick and for the other positive attributes listed above.
I don't have specific days numbers or anything. But I can tell you that I took the AKR down across two days: day 61 - day 62. I hope you enjoy the pictures. I know I have greatly appreciated the nug porn that you have all posted, it definitely helped me get through these past two months of waiting. Remember, this is only my second grow. I realize the AKR is stretched out and that the nugs aren't as dense as they could be (hopefully my SAS will make up for this!). But all in all, I feel as though the nugs are attractive in appearance and smell.
