Indoor ak47 x roadrunner cfl grow

yeah basically... as close as you can get ALL of them without burning... is best... :)

@ roadsidevendor I would take out the 2700k until day 21 let them get str8 6500k. This is how I did it first 21 days 6500k and 5000k, day 21 went to 50/50 2700k 6500k, until got good bud sites I would say around day 40 and then went 90% 2700k 10% 6500k until the end. And as how close you can keep your lights NC, and them hit the nail on the head. No closer then an inch. With the seedlings I kept mine at 2-3 inch until they got to there 3rd set of leaves. Then droped it to a inch the rest of the way.

Yeah, I don't want to mislead you RSV1 but say you are starting 10 plants then you'll want to have the light high enough that all of the plants get direct light... You can check out JM's post of the inverse square law to better understand how your light needs to be...
Hope this helps you man...

i have a enclosed air-cooled box type reflector for the hps,i ordered a cool tube to replace it.i want to adapt the box reflector to cfl's but i wanted to know if the glass will cut down on the intensity of the light to the plants.i plan to join the 2 reflectors together because the fan blows through them and out .so i must keep the glass in.

yup... ur all good:

i appreciate that. this is a constant process of improvements. all the while giving them the best man made nature i can. luckily ,they seem to like it here. just a little more tweaking should do it.
@JM ,a true seeker and gatherer of knowledge. you have helped so many times ++++rep

I'd also have to agree with this.. th 6500 is what you want during veg... switch at day 21 to add in some 2700... then gradual changeover o full 2700 or mostly at least.

I use a cool tube in my setup. The plants certainly don't suffer any.

What can be a hassle is dust building up on the tube. I use a prefilter in my exhaust system so i don't have to wipe down the inside of the tube every month.

alternatively, I do a wipe down 1x a month... :)
with alcohol... no finger oil on HIDS!
