I apologize in advance if I am posting in the wrong forum. My plants are outside, but in a PVC hoop house covered with plastic to keep the rain off them. I took this at 6 am this morning. is this too cold for AK 48s? They seem to be doing OK.
it seems to me that insufficient lighting is more of a problem than nightly drops in temperature. You might wanna check the plastic coverage for filtering out precious sunlight. Or maybe you´ve just been very unfortunate with the local weather lately.
The plastic is made for especially for greenhouses to let sunlight through. And yes, you can say the Big Island of Hawaii has been experiencing it's share of "very unfortunate local weather lately", aside from the rain don't forget to throw in earthquakes, hot lava and erupting volcanoes too.
This plant dealt with 33F (1C) in an unheated outbuilding just yesterday...cold temps might slow it a bit, but it wont stop plants!! Plant it in the ground today
If 60 degrees is as cold as its gonna get, dont fret at all
