Is anyone using the Airpot Hydro model?

It is supposed to better retain water and nutrients, and I suppose will minimize the possibility of run off down the sides. As far as I can tell, the only difference is that the first 2 or 3 top rings of cones has no holes.

[h=1]AIR-*POT HYDRO[/h]The Air-Pot Hydro range has extra water reservoirs (2 or 3) for better water and nutrient retention.

Your totally right with your assessment and I can't see any real benefit other than what you stated.

Idk if they were labeled wrong but i bought a half dozen green bottom original superroots air pots and mine dont have holes in the top 2 rows. After checking their website they show different capacities between the hydro and original, and pics look identical. No clue what the difference is but i dont think its the top holes. Edit: 80mm height seems to be the difference. Going to grab the measuring tape now

The top 2 rows don't have holes so it doesn't leak right out when you feed.

Yeah bro, they are the top of the pots.

The new pots look interesting. I wonder if could increase Increase yield, and are good for soil growers maybe? I wouldn't be surprised.

Yes, less spillage/sepage if one is a bit exuberant when watering, but it also says "extra water reservoirs (2 or 3) for better water and nutrient retention"...... The word "reservoirs" implies some storage capacity, or am I totally off my rocker..... That's known to be the case occasionally!!

Now im even more confused. My pots dont have holes in the top 2 rows, have green bottoms and are 11.5" tall or about 295mm. Closer in height to orig than hydro but

Yeah the reservoirs are the indentations on the inside.

All I see is an extra row of closed nipples and there calling the closed nipples resovoirs because they can hold more water. Not really useful and just a marketing gimmick.

Unless the Law of Gravity is being turned 90 degrees to horizontal inside an airpot, calling an indentation or cone a reservoir when all it does is prevent evaporation when there is no hole, is taking some linguistic liberty......
