Alright, I have seen the air pots on a big chunk of the grow journals that I have been reading through. I have gone to airpot.com and I like the concept and I understand the reasons behind using them. Now however,I am wondering what size I should get? I have seen 15L, but just wanted to know what the General consensus on size is.

Bigger the better I think. I use 3 6 litre airports in a 75cm * 75 cm tent. 250w HP's with cfl side lights. Could prob fit 2 10 litre or 1 16litre in my space. I think smaller pots means smaller plants and less smoke but can finish earlier and don't grow so tall.

I run auto's in the 3 gallon equivalent and I swear by them. Easy to use and reuse.
If you want to grow big photo's get bigger air pots. Want an auto 2 to 3 zips per plant. Try the #3.

Ive used 30l and 15l pots.
I found the 15l pot worked best for me.

Follow Tangs guide if your using soil and airpots.
You will be hitting 200 / 300g per plant easly. I did what he said and got the results :)

Thank you, fellow members. Since the metric conversion tells me that 15L is 3gal (keep in mind, For my British bretheren, that as an american, metric just does not figure in my wee little brain) I do believe that those are what I will shoot for. I am currently using 3gal standard pots. I am using a mix of FFHF 80%, coco 10%, perlite 10%. I will use this for several grows then try a slightly different make up until I dial in what works for me and the plants. I am also currently using General Organics nutes just to get my feet wet so to speak. As I am still on the learning path, I welcome any one with opinions to let them out and help me on my way.

Just so you know.......15L is not 3ga by a wee bit......or 3ga is not 15L by a fair bit......just so you don't get surprised! Anyways, good mojo with the grow hula-girl.gif

3 UK Gal. = 13.638270845984 Liters
3 US Gal. = 11.356235352 Liters

3 gal is indeed 11l !
I have 4 gals now and those are 15l.

if you want to know the conversion fast (when using google chrome) typ in:
3 gal in L

it will show you the conversion without even pressing enter!

Hello,

When you get used to airpots, they are very easy to deal with and maintain. The difference in yield is dramatic. Especially when you go over 100g dry/plant and then 150/p. Airpot allows more intensive watering. You do not need to wait for the bottom to dry and any outrun sits out of soil, because there is distance from the bottom. Airpot generally protects growers from overwatering but not from underwatering. If your plants stay too dry all the time, situation would be worse as in normal pots. Airpot is easily used when your soil surface has concave shape and all water tends to run towards centre, then there is no spillover, only occasionally.

I think that majority would go for 15l with geen bottom. It is the most suitable for normal indoor size plant unless you go for micro growing or real monsters.

15 l is overall capacity of an airpot. But as instructions say, we put green bottom on the third floor from the bottom and lose some volume. If you want to come close to 15 l you should put it a little bit lower, on second or first floor. In that case soil would be closer to outrun water. But there is no need to do that. 15l airpots host 300g plants so you will be on the safe site until you reach there. I havent yet, so I am fine with them.

Good Luck!

Are we talking British gallons or US ? :)

See folks, I told you my wee little mind had trouble with this. I have been using metric-conversions.org and I just rechecked even, using liters to US gallons and it still tells me 15 liters=3 gal. So I need a different website for conversions. All the insanity aside though, I had already decided on the 3gal equivalent air pot with the green bottoms. I am going to pick up a couple before I start my last 2 Dinafem Critical 2.0 autos. That's about 30 or 40 days out then I really need to order more beans. I just can't decide what those will be yet though. So many seeds and they all sound good.
