Just a FYI Hobbes I tried it on all themes shortly after he said something Saturday and I have no sliding action on my iPhone

It looks like now the notifications say "<person> mentioned you in the thread ..." but no longer includes the note "(as you are a member of <group>)".

I'm not sure if I can work around that; we had to disable the software that used to do mention groups (as you described,) to replace it with another set of software that does the same thing (well, close to it,) but adds some additional capabilities. They would likely overlap/glitch having both of them turned on.
