I got a free AKR seed from herbies and she turned out to be a genetic male. There is no sign of pistils only male balls. Have you ever seen FEM seeds create a full male without signs of female pre-flowers?:help:

Honestly I'd be upset at first but theb once I realize if I let it finish I'll have tons of akr pollen and seeds I'd be doing the happy dance. Yea is a bummer when you expect a female but a male can so much more rewarding. I say keep it tons of people here me included would love to have your problem.:Sharing One:

I was actually doing a seed run with a blue automazar as a C.S male and a blue automazar female and creating a hybrid with the C.S pollen with the Afghan Kush ryder.
Do you think the pollen from the Afghan Kush ryder will carry Hermie tendencies?

If it's not a hermie then it shouldn't carry the trait, theoretically, but someone else on here did get a hermie AKR. As long as it's all male you should be fine! How long ago did you get the seed?

I got the seed 5 weeks ago. I don't know if world of seeds makes a non fem version I thought maybe it was a mix up. :Sharing One:

It is 99% female when reversed, who knows maybe you lucked out with the 1% male, but hearing of others that have had issues with the AKR, I'd be very suspect, a) if it was a genetic male and not from mix up but also could be bad Hermie trait, b) it's not what it's suppose to be.... Either way it sucks getting a male when you were expecting a female... At least it did it now and not flower on you and than hermie on you running your whole project... Sending a big :karma Cloud: your way.....

I personally refuse to breed with WoS genetics. Even if your plants dont herm they may still carry the genetics for it. if it wernt for WoS I would have strains released already.

Okay I am going to pull the AKR it's not worth the chance of breeding with bad genetics. Thanks Evol for your opinion on WoS, so many growers like them "afghan kush ryder" I was afraid to be one of the few to say no to this strain.

WOS has had issues for a while. I wouldn't use em for breeding, especially now that the experienced breeders are watchin out for WOS. Bummer, I do like their AKR, some fine smoke.

I have no complaints about the quality of smoke you can get from WoS. The only problem is in the herms. If growing for personal use I do recommend them but you still gotta keep a close eye on them. For breeding they are the worst herm makers ever. Still tryin to work out the herm trait from EAK and its auto children. We might still release EAK with a herm warning because it only happens with stress and old age. The unique smoke is almost worth the risk
