Hey folks. New grower. Wife has an array of gastro issues that I’m growing to help manage to decrease amount of meds and stacking side effects.

I tried to do my homework. Gear as follows below.

Tent is a 60x60x93 (5’x5’x7 1/3’) plenty of height to give the lights clearance from the canopy (id read that could be an issue that you can’t fix if you’re limited by height)

2 x HLG 320w XL kits - total draw should be 640watts

8” inline duct fam with an 8” carbon filter (Jesus that thing was monsterous!)

Fan speed controller comes in tomorrow.

4 x 5gallon fabric pots.

I think that’s it as far as hardware. I still need to pick up something to measure humidity and to test for pH. Suggestions on what would be good are appreciated.

Are there any other things that I am missing?

next I need to go over medium stuff. I’m going to use coco. I’m using a local hydro store I think as shipping took over a month for the supplies that I’m just now getting so even if it’s a markup I’m just going to chalk it up to the cost of business right now.

so I want to use coco. The store I’m going to use has a large ‘canna brand products’ line as far as nutrients is concerned.I would really appreciate it if someone could give me a nutrient list so that I can figure out the dosages ahead of time and figure out how much I need to buy.

thanks! Apologies for typos. Mobile typing blows

Welcome to the site. I'm in the middle of my first grow which i started in March, so I'm still learning, but I would suggest for your Meters go with Apera or Blue Labs. A cheap meter is not worth the headaches.
In my opinion a controllable and stable environment is essential for growing quality meds. You may want to get a humidifier and de-humidifier to keep your desired VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit) which regulates the plant transpiration. I use an Ink Bird humidity controller to keep my VPD within range.
You're gonna need some fans for inside the tent for air movement.
As for nutrients for coco I can't help ya, I grow using an RDWC system with Hydrotron and Rockwool. But there are alot of coco growers here im sure one will chime in.
Good luck and happy harvests

Definitely consider cutting/mixing the coco with perlite for better aeration and water flow.

For base nutes, consider MegaCrop (may not be in stock at moment) or Advanced Nutrients pH Perfect Connoisseur Coco. The Canna brand you mention also has base nutes tailored for coco.

HM has great affordable pH and EC meters or the high end Apera 5 in 1 meters are good

Do you have a fan for air flow? Stand or tower or box fans are preferable imo to clip fans.

Do you an irrigation system? Coco does it's best when watered multiple times a day. You'll also need a reservoir if you go that route.

Do you have something to catch the runoff from the coco irrigation?

Humidifier? Dehumidifier? How are your environmentals like temperature and humidity normally? InkBird controllers could really help create a stable environment.

A 2lb bag of Mega Crop is the simplest route. A 5 gallon pot is a bit much for coco, a 3 gallon can do 1lb plants. I'd recommend adding a layer of clay pebbles to retain moisture and prevent fungus gnats on top.

Pre rinse the coco in a half strength solution of nutrients and CalMag at a 5.8 pH and a .5 EC

Welcome aboard. If you have never grown cannabis b4 it can seem a bit too much. I use 100% coco. Most will use perlite to mix in 60% coco and 40% perlite. The coco i use is Botanicare https://www.botanicare.com/products/cocogro/ I would suggest that you spend some time reading some thread of members who use what you want to learn. When I started out here I felt like I did not have to invent nothing. All I did was read and copy what I read. No one will take it wrong if you follow in their foot steps. Most questions will be found this way. We are all here because we like the people and wanted to share our failures as well as the successes with all who want to spend time learning.

Most will have their grow threads in their signature. Just go from there. It takes a bit of time but the rewards are worth it.
