I’m a first time grower and decided to go with standard kit for an indoor grow, which includes a 600W MH lamp. My seeds have just germinated and I have a problem, one of the seeds was accidentally planted upside down and too near the surface. For this reason, this seed is a few centimetres taller than the rest, and has been stretching towards the light. What’s the best thing to do with this seedling to make sure she doesn’t stretch too much but grows with the others?

My second question is about lights. I have the proper light distance for mature plants under 600W MH, but what do you recommend for seedlings? I have a dimmable ballast, and have been running the light on low to keep the temps up, but I haven’t been able to find advice on the best light power / distance for seedlings. When my seedlings are ready for vegging it’s pretty obvious, but what do I do to make sure my seedlings are warm enough without damaging them?

I think "the best thing to do with this seedling to make sure she doesn’t stretch too much but grows with the others" is to just let it grow along with the others. Seeds don't all get planted/positioned optimally in nature and everything usually works out as if that never happened.

If shes leggy only way for me to correct it is either higher her pot to keep your light at the same height or lower your light a inch also your always better posting pic s my friend

Understood, pics coming ASAP my friend.

Or to "shorten" your plant raise the level, add more medium/soil. That will both more even out your height (at the moment) and give better support for the plant.

It's very common for seedlings to stretch.
The simplest thing to do is stake it.
Eventually the thin stems will thicken, and in a few weeks it will not have mattered at all that it stretched.

How close to put the light probably has no best answer.

Exactly. I had a couple stretch big time. After I couple weeks it made no difference.
