Hey everyone,

I'm just getting into growing; currently I have a cupboard of size 65cm x 40cm x 37cm.

Could anyone give me any advice on the number of lights I may need? I plan on getting the highest power CFL lights I can find.

Additionally, would it be possible to grow more than one plant in a box this size? I was planning on growing (Auto) Diesel Ryder, or Critical Jack at this point, unless someone can recommend me an easy-to-grow, high yielding plant with a good high.

Thanks in advance guys, I hope to start a log up once I have all my materials together.

Welcome to the site man. Glad to have you. Is that 37 cm tall total? That is mighty small to grow in, almost too small I would think. We have several micro growers around here so they can probably give yu some cool tips. I would think only one could fit in those side to side dimensions. You have to take in account pot height, as well as lights and exhaust fan.

Shoot for around 100 watts if you can. As far as strain, I suggest Stich's MI5. Great beginner strain, easy to grow, great yield and potency. Just hope for the smaller phenotype or you will have to tie her down or get a taller cab.

Good luck dude!

Oops, I mean 65cm high, 40cm wide, 37cm deep. And I will look into MI5.

As for size, I'm thinking about getting some chicken wire to stop them growing too tall and encourage them to grow sideways a bit.

Thanks for your comment!

I've done 3 plants (photo but 12/12 direct from seeds) in a 70cm high and 50*50cm large closet, so I think your project is more than realisable.

If I were you, I maybe consider a one plant grow with a pot larger than high, try to find that and it will suit very well I think.
And if you want to make seeds for a future outdoor grow (cause mi5 does very well outdoor), you will find the palce to keep a male in a small pot, you just need some pollen from him!
Peace

Good advice, thanks alot.
Out of curiousity, what strain did you grow and how was your yield?

That was my first, so I took too small pots they were 5L pots for the bigger.
I used organic home made nuts, the strain was "double gum" frow white label seeds ( sensi seeds discount; shitty germ rate by the way) and a "purple#1" from DP.
The poor yield I had was 6.5g/plant approximately, shame on me!

mi5 is not the strain for a 65cm box 1 plant would out grow that
you need light space and pot space choose a very short strain like lr1 shortstuff 1 ect

thats about 1.6 sqft i would run a similar setup as eds book with 3x 25w xfl 2 warm 1 cool white spectrum

i would look for a 40x40cm box and run 4x25w cfl

Would 40x40 be an adequate space? 40cm in height too? Seems small...

Also what is this "eds book"?

Thanks for your help.

Ah I see. I think I'll keep looking for a suitable box then.
Thanks for the link to the book too, It will be very useful for an inexperienced grower like me.
