hello all my green fingered friends..

Those of you that dont know, I am growing a maxi gom under 2 cfl bulbs. When the lights go off tonight I want to add my 400w hps. I was her wondering if I should slowly introduce the light or will it be ok to just stick it in my cupboard(providing dont get too hot)..

a pre thanks for your help guys as im not at home all day, I will log on tonight and see what your all saying..

Be sure to check my grow out..

Peace..

As long as it isn't to hot or to close to them they should love it.
I've gone from t8 veg to outdoor without a problem, so I don't think there will be a problem with a 400w HPS.

Thanks guys,

Im currently using a red and blue 125w so theres 250w in there at the min. I am very concerned about temps but im hoping I can control it. I really only want to put hps in there for one day, then switch back to cfl the following day as Im not able to monitor the plant everyday, the days im at home I want to use hps.. Will this stress it or will it be benificial??

Cfl's are basically touching the plant atm its very bright and she's loving it.

Mon,Tue,thursdays will be cfl.. Wed, Fri, sat, Sunday will be hps.

Thanks again guys..

Peace..

plur , hi, one way to control hps temp in confined area, is to employ a "Robus" RRF10 room stat. The key to this on is that you can wire it to "Cooling" and set stat at 26c + 78F ok. And then adjust height in area to suit trigger temp you want. Cost compared to wizzo gadgets £18 wizzo £230. its a robus central heating room thermostat ok. But wired for cooling, as diagram. as for HPS you must use a digi ballast "Contacter" as the initial serge is different to 250w CFL, (Envirolight" ,,??...... I am using 3 no 250 CFLs and considered 2 no 400w hps 1 white 1 red etc.........as i believe mixed light throught is better results for sure,........ie LED revolution !!...........but HPS CMH MH envelopes if touched or even scratched can pop at 1000c. vented enclosed denies you heat. by the time it hit floor its still 500c. it worries me. So i stick with CFLs. ballasts can fail. Another source of heat and ignition. Another £100. Up the cfls, as you are set for them, all spectrum nm mixed red and white 250w each, you got 500w mixed and no extra cost except bulbs. To compete with HPs "Up The Lumens with CFLs, 2500 lumens foot square is top wack plur......................autoberry...........peace fella................bet the ladies in the dome enter your mind at work more than those on the outside !!.........while at work...
