Indoor adding food coloring for cool color

Why would someone do this?

Not to dismiss your idea, but food coloring is made from petroleum products. Red and Yellow's in the past have had to change thier make up (required by the FDA), because they were harmful.

I wouldn't want to smoke this, for the color or any other reason.

Buy some of the stuff out of the hydro store that will give you color, I am sure it will be safer (although it is getting harder and harder to know anymore).

I take issue with your opinion as we eat it almost on a daily basis! Not that I'm going to do it as I think it's a cool idea

I don't think it will work; plants (not just cannabis) get the color in their leaves from how the various compounds that process sunlight in their leaves reflect light back. Since their color is tied to the way they function on a chemical level, I don't think food coloring would have an impact on it.

I could be wrong though; I've never tried it at least.

anyone ever tried this?

No way I would but here's a suggestion ......... don't massacre your bud with food colour, just take lots of acid whilst looking at it. No worries

Make your grow room cold or water with ice water that'll help bring out the colors... Maybe better than food coloring. Alot of strains temp plays a big part in color production

This is a cool suggestion; I might even try it with my current grow!

I can't guarantee anything good or bad. I read on here somewhere about the ice water. And I live in Maine so I do know about the cold part.

I started watering my plants with ice water a few days ago. The smells have exploded but I can't tell whether it's doing anything to colors or not

It's supposed to bring out the colors if you've got the right kind of genetics.

I always use icy cold water right out of the well. I've never used ice water it just kinda seems like it would shock the shit out of the roots. Let me know how it works would ya?? I have definitely noticed the smell, much more with cold water
