Indoor AB's latest grow log - Launch of the Badboy!

Technically squid photosynthesis occurs at its peek between 81-86 degrees for most strains. Now with all the genetic tweaking this varies but ideally that's the sweet spot. I only worry at extended periods over 90 degrees that will kill a plant but if its that hot I want 50% or lower humidity with fans and they will be fine! Its when the humidity goes to high with that heat you got major issues on many levels. Basically the plant cant breathe.

Now that I have my inline fan I get great circulation and I have two fans blowing at and across the light and in between it and the plants. It's nice, slightly breezy and fresh, but it stays at about 80-82 and even a bit higher sometimes. It's not overly humid in there either. I actually wish I could turn my fan down a little for the noise but the temps will raise for sure.

Hey Andy how is the heat with having that badboy so close? I am considering getting one for another tent setup for photos and breeding. My leds run about 90-100 degrees now and I can keep my tent between 73-86.

The fixture runs cool & most of the heat from the ballasts goes out the top. I have a bit of a problem because my Badboy is almost the same dimensions as my tent, so the warm air dams up under it rather than flowing upward. After some creative airflow work, I can keep it around 78-82 unless the ambient temps warm up like they have this week. In a larger tent or open room, this fixture would have no heat problems at all.

Hey AndyB, I have enjoyed reading your journals, I am on my second grow and hope to start my own journal (if I can put the bong down long enough to type one out haha)

I am very impressed on how much you have progressed in your last 3 grows, it wont be long until your the one giving all the advice im sure. :)

Anyways congrats on the latest grow, I think I may have to try the PAK out, those buds look delicious.

gandolph, just an fyi, he's already the one giving all the help..haha. my grow wouldnt be half of what it is without this guy..hahaha:kiss:

Holy Moly donuts andy that AKR looks divine bro. awesome job +rep from me for such a beautiful grown plant. I don't usually rep until harvest but that just gave me ganja wood like no other :smokeit:

Thanks my friend! It will be in the room with the other tent but exhausting into the attic. So I should be good then.

I'm right there with ya lever, I am happy to toss some rep your way too! That was an awesome photo update, and from flouros! WOW! That pic of the trichs should get a nom for the POM/BOM for May.

Thanks so much for all the comments and rep! I was away once again for a 4 day weekend but the plants did fine in my absence. The little Snowryder I chopped last week is in the jar and down around 64% humidity, so it's about to hit the final curing stage. The others are getting close, and we may have another harvest later this week. On to the pics:

Day 72

PAK - Still swelling up and slowly eating through all those fan leaves. I figured this one would be ready the latest, and that's still the case. She could probably go for several more weeks, but I've got a vacation coming in June so I can't wait forever. I love the rainbow of colors that the leaves have shown as they fade away, and of course those reddish-purple buds are a thing of beauty.

AKR - This raggedy girl is loaded with frosty buds so dense you could hammer a nail with them. I keep waiting for them to fatten up, but they're just getting harder and harder. Even down low the trichs are all cloudy with about 10% amber, so the time is getting close. I have a feeling this is going to be some massive couch lock bud, which isn't always my favorite, but sometimes you need those meds. :smoke: If I have time I'll probably give her the chop by the weekend.

SR1 - I have never grown a plant that took off like this late in flower. Since stopping the nutes it's gone crazy with the main cola blowing up and fox-tailing all over the place. It's loaded with new pistils and shows no signs of slowing down, though the fan leaves are disappearing quickly. This one will be close to the AKR for biggest yielder, and though the buds aren't as dense, it's already very wobbly and top-heavy.

RRF (Day 38) - She topped out at around 16" last week and wasn't getting any taller, so she's on full bloom nutes now. Flowering is moving along very well and I expect this plant to be a very nice producer.
