Lighting Яaspberry Cough fem (photo), DWC, 0.12m2, GN HS1+DIY 77W

Guys, i have one question. Maybe someone who knows about cloning, will read this and could tell me one thing: can i make a good clone from this plant central cola? I will top my plant anyway, so maybe i could save a seed for my friend, he is starting his grow in few days. So i thought maybe i could let to grow central cola for few more days and then cut it. And is it OK to clone fems? I have found various sources that tells about risks of hermies, other sources says that it is OK and fems gives good clones too. So maybe someone could give me advise on this? I would really appreciate it.
This is what im talking about

Short answer: Yes.
Long: You should let it grow a bit taller before you do, but there is absolutely nothing stopping you. Having cloned literally hundreds of plants, the only ones that have gone hermie, have had other issues with their genetics as well.

About Mineral Magic. The 30g a staple you use per 10l of water, or do you up it during flowering? I'm assuming you change all the water during the grow, multiple times..?

@badumtshh, thank you for the answer, i'll maybe do it (topping and clone) later. I have also read that i that tip of central cola has concentrated growth hormones in it, and that side branches (will appear in approx. 2 weeks) are more easy on cloning, adapts faster etc. I think that i'll try to compare these, if topping will be done. Still did not decided, as for now that central cola is still not an issue.
I'm putting mineral magic straight to the tank and it stays there as long, as tea is not changed. Earlier i used it separately i bottle of water and added only clean part of water with dissolved salts n it, but after that i did noticed that i could use it straight in DWC, this lets me to add less of this stuff and gives good results too. Planning to use in foliar feed too, when plant will grow bigger.
I'm changing tea once when switching to 12/12 (or flowers appear) and in flowering, f i see and feel that it needs to be done (especially at summer, when tea temps are higher). There is no schedule for this and i tried to run all grow on same tea but change only once (for flowering) - everything went just perfect. Mineral magic and enzymes lets to do it, no signs of any pathology appeared, so i suppose i could just top my DWC and run it in lazy mode :)

14 days from helmet

Removed 2 more leaves from central cola. Will do that for every pair of leaves, which grows there. That will make center to grow more slowly and side branches will get boost just by freely growing without disturbance. I think it may work :)

Yeah, I've been experimenting with not changing the res more than once, a bit before the flowering boost kicks in.
Mineral Magic use is the same for me. Chuck it into the reservoir and forget about it. Merely curious on if anyone else has anything to add to it, seeing how there are no solid instructions on it's use for DWC. Or I've not found any.
I also just checked, since I've not measured how much I usually chuck into it, but I use the lid of the jar as a measurement, and it's about 27-30g.
Anyhoo, same results for me. No problems whatsoever, the plants have thick stems that can take the heavy weight of hundreds of grams without snapping or bending.

We're all in agreement here. Solid. Keep up the good work. :D

Oh, AFN is alive again :woohoo:

Just wanted to make small update about how my plant is doing. It's 16th day from helmet.
Removing 2 biggest leaves from central cola works as charm - it barely stretches and it seems that growth hormones have been spreaded to all other branches, these are developing very well and without topping i did not got any stunning. Just look how this bush form, it already has theoretically 22 branches + central cola on it! I'll need some extreme LST for that.
SO, here's how it looks today.
Before and after LST.

:muahaha::naughtystep:

Yeah! Tie that bitch down :eyebrows: Good photos and really interesting work! This is a real thrill to watch!

Look at that! The side nodes has already started to catch up with the central node. This works nice! I have to say that I am amazed how quickly after the defoliation there are new leaves and activity with the plant. Just couple days ago I took handfull of leaves out from my garden and again it is super busy there :)

@MedGrower yah, when you start to defoliate - plant starts to grow more leaves, that is normal. After even very serious defoliation plant gets all leaves back just in 4-5 days. Although, you must remember, that all that defol thing is stress for the plant, which could cause sex anomalies and growth stunning. You need to do that carefuly, wisely. Only those selaves which has potential bud sites under them, should be removed. Also there is one more thing - green spectrum causes plant to stretch. And guess what, when light penetrates the leaves - lower branches under that leaves gets only green light (leaves works like green light filters) and stretches well, till it reaches free zone with direct source of light. So you may remove only these leaves, which under them has exactly these parts of plant, which is not possible to stretch normally, or needs slower growth rate to be equal with all others. This is like working with plant, every day. And this is what i like to do :D
