Slight off topic hijack if @Mcdee does not mind.
Are there any decent value reliable and effective Rosin presses available commercially?
Or is DIY really the way to go like Mcdee did? Just sourcing the parts looks like a lot of work. And not sure how difficult the build is and if I need to machine parts or not.

I didn't do diy, I bought the press from harbor freight 79.99 -25% so like 60.00. I bought a rosin press plate kit off eBay for 249.99. So I spent 310.00 all I did was put press together. Rosin Tech is nice and pretty, but lets look at the numbers. Their 1st unit, that is to say 1st real nice press has 2x3 inch plates mine are 3x5. It's only 2 tons mine is 6. It's fully automated, but you have to have air compressor hooked up. And finally their press is 1600.00, mine was 310.00. So you tell me is theirs worth it? Wanted to diy mine, but couldn't drill the plates and I have no time. I could have saved another 100-125 if would have diy it lol. Rosin tech is very nice, but not worth it. It's more than 5x what I spent. Just getting use to it, got 25% return on Ripleys OG on 1st press. Not much better can be done with any press that i have heard of. But some people will pay for the bells and whistles, which is why Rosin tech sell that press for 1600.00 lol.

My "personal portable clothes iron" and clamp work better than the expensive units. Trust me. I have been pressing rosin daily for a long time!
Can you post a link to that iron or one like it? And do you use two of them or one?
Awesome man. How much do you press at time max? Couple of grams? More? Going to go thru your thread again soon and revisit it. For some reason I thought it was a true DIY build. Assembling parts is DIY light and that's what I'm looking for. Sounds cool. How do you consume it too? Vape pen?
