Hi!

I got a 47 inch length, 24 width and 59 inch tall tent. I've been using 2 x 250w dual spectrum hps during this winter to be able to keep temperatures. I got the tent in a attic that has like 41 degrees (Fahrenheit) above the outside temperature. (I live in a Nordic country)

As the Temps are getting up outside I need to change the lights to something that don't put out that much heat. I got a Mars hydro reflector 48 for half my tent but need something for the other half.
Wich lead me to this part of AFN.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this cob business.

Are they dual spectrum so you can use them through all of the grow?

Are they "plug and play" like the mars or any other leds?

Is it possible to send the autocobs to a Nordic country, maybe stealthy?

What's the lifetime of the cobs?

What I've understood they are cheaper to run and put out better/more light compared to, well my Mars 48 for instance?

Thanks a lot if you can help me out.

*edit
Sorry if I might sound stupid haha, but last question..
What is the "driver"?

I seriously can't find answers to my questions..

Youve asked all the right questions lol.

They should mostly be plug and play inless you go diy route. They last quite a while if treated right. 10yrs if I understand correctly. And yes they are 1 spectrum for a full grow. Usually 3000k or 35000k

I own a few cobs and I know they are definitely the way to guy as far as lighting goes. Food luck on the rest of your answers man.

10 years! God damn, that's definitely worth the cost!

Alright, thanks for the answers.

@BigSm0 (forgot to tag you) you might got some good answers as well?

I've been checking out cobs and it seems like you are the only one doing individual cobs.
Wich makes a lot of sense. Making it possible to move them around easier.
Are the autocobs "plug and play" with individual cords to the power outlet?

Hey there,

Yes the AutoCobs are plug and play. The 3500k cob is (duel spec) full spectrum. Perfect combination for a veg and flower spectrum. Individual cobs are becoming very popular. Spacing is key as well as individually adjusting their heights. Light intensity drops rapidly at distance so having this adjustability over an uneven canopy has really helped increase the canopy par levels. This benefit and the actual light efficiency of the cobs make it that much less energy is needed to grow amazing plants.

Shipping is very fast and 100% stealth. The return label does say cobshop but I can change this if you like.

The cobs do have individual cords too. This is very helpful if you want to slowly increase the intensity or decrease the intensity as your plants progress. Most people run the cobs to a power strip and the strip to a timer.

As far as cheaper to run you are correct. Efficiency is basically the ratio of wattage to light. The only guarantee with wattage is the amount of heat but the amount of light varies based on efficiency. Some brands give 20% light per watt, while others like these particular cobs are in the 50% range. Giving you 2.5 times the light. With more light you can have less wattage and that equals less heat.

Hopefully that answers most of the questions. If you have any more please feel free.

I have 6 of the 3500K ready to hang Autocobs. Hard to beat their efficiency, low electrical draw, low heat throw, noiseless, easy to move around and near as bright as the sun. They will do you well.
