Outdoor A Bug's life. - need insect help

Hey fella's i'm growing outdoors out of the season, and I encountered an insect problem, would love your advice.

looks like Caterpillars or grasshoppers to me.
 
There is any green(organic) solution? Not a chemical or biological
 
Insecticidal soap is green. That's what I use. Spider mites are the big problem I run into and I find that weekly treatments work great to keep them under control. If it's caterpillars, there are also natural substances you can treat with, like Green Step from Gardens Alive.

Not sure where you are in the world but the slug damage i get looks like that. Copper tape around the pot edge helps with them. And beer, slugs are powerless against beer.
 
slugs! good call... very slug looking now that you mention it!

if you're in a container... get a lid or tray with an edge... sprinkle a generous layer of salt on it... set it under your planters... they wont cross it cuz itll kill hem...

never tried copper but that prob would do the job too.
