The setup:
A Mars Hydro 3x3x5 ft tent w/ reflective mylar interior and 300w LED.
Two four and a half gallon regular pots and one 3 gallon regular pot. There is also a small 4 inch clip on fan in the corner and just above the girls, and also reflects off the top of the tent to give them different wind direction at once, and two exhaust any warm air. The soil recipe and feeding schedule will be in the next post..

The Girls:
1x Blue Trickle in a 3 gal. pot.
1x Polar Express in a 4 1/2 gal. pot.
1x Rhino Rider in a 4 1/2 gal. pot.

he history so far:
The girls are now 42 days old from sprouting. Somehow, we had 2 plants sprout in the same pot, so we transplanted the Blue Trickle into these smaller pot for now. We have had issues with fungus gnats. That situation appears to be on the mend. By placing a layer of sand about a half inch or so on top of the soil, and by treating the top of the soil using a spray bottle, then the top of the san. We are using a pesticide whose active ingredient is not synthetic, but a naturally occurring oil. That should give the little buggers a double whammy. I will figure out how to post pictures as soon as I can and put some up for you. Please feel free to post any comments, suggestions, critiques it cetera. I can use all the help I can get, so the more the merrier! :peace:

Welcome blind

This should be interesting. I depend so much on my sight for growing plants, I just can't imagine doing it blind.

Anyway if you have serious issues, we have an infirmary where you can get extra help.

I used this recipe because of budget constraints. If anyone can help me out with a better recipe that is not very complicated, I would appreciate it a lot. I would like to eventually go completely organic so that all I have to do is replenish some of the natural nutrients in the soil instead of 3 mixing an entirely knew thatch. The final goal is to have a water only soil.

Alaska Fish Emulsion (5-1-1) $7.98

Miracle Gro Liquid Quick Start (4-12-4) $8.97

Epsoma Bio-Tone Starter+ Organic (4-3-3) $8.47

32 QT. Harvest Superpowered Organic Potting Mix (0.1-0.5-0.5) $6.98

8 Qt. Miracle Gro Perlite $4.24

2x 4Lbs. Natural Coarse Sand $3.97

1 Bottle BlackStrap Molasses (Grocery Store) $5.00

Total: $49.58

The goal of the soil is to give as much myco activity as possible, this means there will be live fungus and bacteria in your soil that will help the plant grow by increasing root activity. As well, the soil needs water retention AND good drainage. This soil contains dolomite lime to balance pH @ 6.5, this is intended for those who have no access to PH meters. While it's always advised to have a meter, if you use just what's recommended here a lock-out is unlikely to happen unless you're watering with >9 or <5 PH water. Most tap water does not fall in this range.

First thing you want to do is get a bin or tub large enough to mix all of your components.
Next cut open your bag of Potting Mix and dump it in the bin, after this you want to use 0.5TBSP per QUART of potting mix, so with 32 quarts of potting mix, you want to mix in ONE CUP (measure) of Bio-Tone Starter+ into your potting mix. Sprinkle half a cup, mix thoroughly, when you think you're done mixing, mix more. Pour the other half of cup in and repeat, remember the more mixing, the better. Once you've mixed in all of your Bio-Tone Starter+ get your bag of perlite and poke holes in the bottom of it, rinse it through in the tub or something to get rid of all of the dust. This step isn't required but it's advised. Once you're done rinsing the perlite, pour half the bag or 4 quarts in. The exact amount isn't as important as it was to measure out the bio-tone, perlite has no nutrients in it. Again, mix thoroughly - much like you did with the bio-tone.. the bio-tone is small and hard to see the perlite is larger and you'll know when you have an even consistency. Once you're done mixing this, pour in your two bags of Natural Coarse Sand (this stuff looks like gravel more so than sand, you'll see when you have an even
consistency.

This soil mixture and feeding schedule will NOT burn your plants with the soil mixture above.
Week 1 (Three true leaves) - 1TSP Fish Emulsion per gallon of water.
Week 2 - 1.5 TSP Fish Emulsion per gallon of water.
Week 3 - 2 TSP Fish Emulsion per gallon of water Week 4 - 2 TSP Fish Emulsion per gallon of water

Week 5 - 2 TSP Miracle Gro Quick Start per gallon of water + 1TSP Blackstrap Molasses
Week 6 - 3 TSP Miracle Gro Quick Start per gallon of water + 1TSP Blackstrap Molasses

Week 7 - 3 TSP Miracle Gro Quick Start per gallon of water + 1TSP Blackstrap Molasses

eek 8 - Plain water + 1TSP Blackstrap Molasses
Week 9 - Plain water + 1TSP Blackstrap Molasses The molasses gives cal-mag boost, you can use it in veg if needed, but you should have enough cal-mag between the dolomitic lime available in the soil and the bio-tone to get you to week 5. If you start to notice any Cal-Mag def at all, use 1TSP of Molasses for one of the waterings during week 3 & 4, otherwise use same schedule the entire grow.

Led lights are Cal mag hungry. General Organics has a cal mag organic 0-0-0 across the board. It worked great but you seem to have a regiment already planned out. I would try and get away from miracle grow in the future. I had some heavy success using General organics GO box. A starter kit. Biotabs has some interesting organic products and a starter kit too. Stay the course you have plotted and lets see some pictures Mate. Green planet has a award winning one part nutrient called MEDI one by Green Planet it comes highly recommended by DR Hornby.

I wasn't aware that LEDs were that way. Maybe I'll double the dose of the BSM for the next two or three feedings. How long I do it will obviously depend on how they react. I don't mean to sound stupid or ignorant comma but will that kind of deficiency cause yellowing leaves? You will see what I mean when I get the pic posted. I'm doing my best to figure it out. Thanks again guys! Keep any suggestions or critiques coming! :peace:

I suggest getting a pic up asap. Even if you have to use a webcam pic, (i'm taken pics with my tablet for now). If you've already been feeding BSM, I'd wait until you get your problem figured out first. Lots of folks here can look at a plant and tell you what's wrong with it, wish i was one of them! Peace!

These were taken yesterday morning at lights out. By the way, I am running and 18/6 light cycle. The lights went to bloom settings on Thursday, and are 22 to 24 inches above the tops of the girls.

My first thought is a nitrogen deficiency, but even if it is ... it could be caused by the ph being out of whack. So the last thing you want to do is add nitrogen till you know for sure. @Fairlynew @epenguin can ya help a brutha out ... Peace!
