Indeed we will mate..gpw is not something I aim for i just grow plants and smoke them,my tent is small and I went with LED not for yield but for less heat,less leccy,more efficient and long life,it is a lot of money but for my needs it's perfect combo.

Can I just add that my lights did come on golden unicorns and they were ridden by hotties with massive joints hanging from there pouting lips lol I wish.

I see your point im using yield to judge how happy my plant are with the light source i will be running hps/mh combos again shortly (at the same time)
i think grams per watt is to vague and time need to be taken on board its just what people understand
didgi ballast are quite efficient and i think the life will be similar to an led but least you can screw a bulb in if it goes pop

OP could also run a mh for veg and hps for flower as well as the ballast will do both which is an advantage but the glass may cut out uvb from the MH

Yea that's exactly my life circumstances too in that i just want some nice home grown that i don't have to pay some prick I don't like for hahaha, its just too fucking expensive now even for shit weed so I just want to grow something decent for myself and enough of it so i wont be running out before the next is ready I probably smoke about 2 grams a day and if my leg is hurting as I get clots in it from high homocsysteine levels I'll smoke abit more just to get asleep at night, bollox to say the least mate
