Cheers guys, you boys are the bollox, I like the grow northern one you suggested, so do ya think that diff strong enough for few decent plants and a nice crop? Please say no airey non smelling skunk hahaha

When u say intense about that stronger light mate is there any possible problems with offering too much light as I've screwed up with too little light before using some enviro lights that was not up to the job, so if anything id prefer little stronger than little weaker

I wouldnt grow more than 2-3 in that tent mate,maybe 4 smaller autos at a push..that grow northern led pulls 20/30 more watts than my blackstar and will grow you some nice buds mate.with led the lenses concentrate at a certain angle and if the light is too intense you raise it higher to avoid bleaching the leaves,with the dr60 only being 5ft you may struggle to get it high enough.its something to consider

Plants dont use watts they use par anyway that rule of thumb was for hps
leds are double hps so it it draw 100w is still the same as a 200w hps (within the rule of thumb) also theres a 240w listed there and its still cheaper at 250 notes and black star seem to have the best rep at the mo

because they pull more could just be down to effiency of the chips is there a lumen comparison

Your using watts in your conversion???? And I use experience mate and I know it's not enough because I use one..This light is a penetrator and will easily match,if not out perform a blackstar and it's cheaper http://igrowleduk.co.uk/products-page/i-grow-led-x-range/i-grow-84x-135w/ just look at what Seymour does with his penetrator

too much is a loose term... to intense too close... yes bleaching of leaves...

too much without enough ventilation causes excess heat... balance it out....

and beyond those few things.... theres no such thing as too much light for indoor!


I've seen the 240 w blackstar in action at a mates place... great lights!!! If you are running any height you'll want some side supplementals... maybe some CFLs for that if you cant pony the dough for an extra 2 or 3 leds...

240 watt blackstar does only draw 120 watts... ecven still... for a change I'm impressed with LED... and want 2 or 3 of those myself to replace my 440 HPS

I would go with a 6 module light like http://grownorthern.com/index.php?p...category_id=1&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=75 or one Red likes the only thing about the igrow lights Richi and Red is the shipping in that u have to pay the import duty,I dont know how much this is so will see what Adz says tomorrow if his comes. That's spot on j tang I forgot to mention that mate.i spoke to the guy at I grow and he said they can mark the value as very cheap or as a sample product to keep import tax at a minimum.
With LEDs heat is not an issue either :smokebuds:

they are definetly way cooler than HPS /MH / HID / CFL
