Lighting 6500 k cfls

Bright little suckers aren't they? I am sure you will be very satisfied with them.

Salutations Nelson,

Lucky me, there's a Walmart store nearby. No need to leave Shawinigan Falls, even less to travel to Trois-Rivieres (i'd find simpler just to go shoping to Montreal anyway). So, i hope this will do for a while:

...'cause i've brought back 3 of them.

The boxes are marked "Globe EnerSaver 200W Cool White", all 3 appear to be identical but for one detail: 2 bulbs are 3000 lumens units while the 3rd one is 2250 lumens only...
I knew they were waiting out there to catch me. Congratulations Walmart!!! Well, i guess at least i saved a few cents since i paid 14.47 $ CAD each.

The lamps are now mounted on a tripod support, a few inches above my 4 plants with one lamp for the younger duo; the other got 1 lamp right on top of each plant because of their larger sizes. All plants are covered with a clear plastic container with openings to allow breathing and limit evaporation also. In addition, i figure this should tame down UV radiation slightly, if any...

Thanks for the advice!

Hello there!

:D

Since i've got some of those installed now i'm certainly willing to give them a try - or two!

I'm not sure what i can do with 8250 lumens but i'll find out.

I have never had a bulb with that lumen rating on the box. I wonder if they remeasured them and decided to ower the rating or what? Wierd. Do they look less bright than the other two?

Good luck to you on your grow.

I find it's hard to tell what those numbers really mean just by staring at the lamps, my plants appear to handle it well but i can't say the same of my human eyes... Maybe the different markings are specified relatively to the level of light once a lamp has reached it's half-life, whatever that is... I should have paid attention to the markings on the units themselves.

The displacement of 4 plants remains a bit tedious but i'm relieved that they should grow happily for the time being. Though perhaps i'd be better to plan a photo session soon!...

Went to my local hydro shop the other day and got a big mogul socket 126 watt 6500k cfl ,bulb, socket reflector and all 48 bucks out the door, plus 2 2700k 55w bulbs &clamp sockets about 32 bucks at walmart

not sure if you have a lowes around you, but they have 65watt 6500k lights for 15.00 each.

There were about 3, maybe 4 hours of sunlight today. My tallest plant is now 3½" only although i germinated it more than 6 weeks ago... A plant i started on July 1st didn't grow higher than 20" as i recall, i guess i'll have to buy more CFLs but i may be lucky engough not to need too many. In any case, there ain't no Lowes store anywhere in Montreal city it seems.

What i do know for sure is that i'll need to start shoping around for sun glasses!

not around here 23 watts 6500k was the highest, even tryed graybar 7 & local lighting supply they sent me to nobody had anything higher in stock they could order them but the hydro store still beat their price

Hummm...

23 Watts sounds pretty bad, good luck finding something more appropriate!!!
