New Grower 48 hours darkness before harvest yes/no? Why?

Well my question is why people prefer 48 hours dark before harvest or not and what benefitsdo you get. Im not trying to start any fights here so let everybody voice there opinions and why please.

I have read that this makes the trich production increase and the buds swell more, but also that 36 hours may be best so you don't run into mold problems. Don't wanna leave it in the dark for too long. Just my

I was going to post pretty much the same question as i'm just a couple days away from harvest.

Correct me if I am wrong but the plant continues to "live" for a short period of time even after being cut. SO in theory the 24-48hrs in darkness would help flowers color more hairs/tricomes being a plant flowers most grows mostly at night right?

As far as I know, yes. I forgot to add that I have heard it being used to bring out colors especially purples. Lower temps help purples too.

Thanks squid yeah I want everbodys opinions on this I've tried both but no huge difference I could notice but im inexperienced to. I've seen this debated on other forums I just want to see what the auto community has to say thanks evryone

I am cutting couple plants down friday im gona do half in light half dark for last day and will compare

I've harvested with and without a dark period and I couldn't tell any difference it was all good.
