Jean-O's Show Grows 2024 4 US Tester positions for Jean-Os Genetics

Hey Dog house!
back with a weekly update on ol’ Blue
We’re at day 14 and they are not gaining much height but are filling out. Enough so that the weight is making the stem lean over.
A touch smaller than its Cherry Bomb neighbour but both are doing pretty good for me.

They do have some very broad leaves don't they? Nice looking plants. What kind of light wave are you running over top of them? :pass:

These are under a Mars Hydro SP150 which is at the top of the tent as it can go, so I’d say about 30” from tops. I’m reading ~16k lux with my meter, though recently I turned on an additional Single cob light (3500K) in there as well which brought it to 20k lux. Not sure if it was needed but thought I’d see if it made any difference. 22.5w/sq ft with just the SP150, 32.5w/sq ft with the COB on.

forgot to post that I put my straw dog seeds in water to start to germinate a few days ago. I have since put them in a moist paper towel. I harvested my two flowering plants today so now I need to clean the tent out a bit and just wait for the seeds to grow some tails.

Straw Dog Auto F1 day 46 from germination day 30 from pre flower. She stretched out into a nice size girl, I wish I would have had more room in the cab to widen her a bit more. Not much of an aroma off her yet a bit of something sweet and floral so far. Im getting some light bleaching on the tops of all of the girls because Ive run out of vertical height and my lights are as far up as possible which has been a reoccurring problem for me in my 5 ft tall cab. This year Im having contractors add onto my house and will be able to have a 8x8x8 room to dedicate to my grows and breeding projects.

These girls have been super thirsty I have been going through 3 gallons of water per day with the 4 plants in 7 gallons pots and the 1 in the 1 gallon pot. I have dropped the RH in the cab down to around 35% now that flowering is under way it was probably a week or so early with 2 of them being in early flower but I have 2 that are getting into mid to late flower and the drop in the RH really helps out with resin production IMO later in flower.

Day 22 the girls are officially 3 weeks old , I bent them over and did some leaf tucking.....removed about 5 fan leaves in total and the bottom branches from the first node of each plant because they were smaller than the rest by a long shot.....I also transplanted the 1 gallon rain science bag right into a 5 gallon fabric pot of slightly ammended strawberry fields blooming potting soil by fox farm....watered around the bag only with recharge.....the root tips were growing through the bag hopefully I get a bigger plant and yield but I’ve never tried this before but it could work in theory so let’s see - oh and gender reveal this weekend all three confirmed female....I wonder how long I can expect them to stretch ? Before they stop growing taller and begin fully fruiting....also my new flamethrower light might be keeping them squat I have it on 50% at 24 inches I’m just inexperienced with it I think they are getting about 350 PPFD for 20 hours a day right now for about like 25 DLI seems in the ballpark for this stage

I think I need to revise my germination processes I have been having terrible luck starting seeds. I am pretty sure I messed up and let the seeds dry out a little to much in the paper towels.

the paper towel method just not working for me anymore sadly. I think I will just get some starter cubes and try it that way next time.

anyway I took the seeds and put them in solo cups with some soil lets hope they make it.

From what I have seen you probably have roughly 3weeks of good accelerated growth before they are into full flower. They look great!

I would definitely give them at least a week in some moist soil before I would give up on em. I always just drop my beans in the soil to germinate them but thats mainly because Im busy and always in a rush which don't usually go hand in hand with being delicate and transplanting. I usually scratch about a quarter inch deep in the soil and lightly cover the seed and soak the soil in and cover it with plastic wrap for a few days. They usually pop within a few days but Ive had seeds take up to 3 weeks to pop (Usually old seeds) after they had been replaced is usually when they decide to do something in my case. Let me know how this turns out for ya and if they all went dud Ill get something worked out for ya.
How many days has it been since you soaked and paper toweled them?
Do you know roughly how long they were dried out in the towel? Did they have tap roots when they dried out or were the shells cracked open?
This is just my opinion but I personally don't feel any one germination method is any better than the next Ive had soil dry out on me before also and cause issues.
