Harvesting is going to be a matter of personal preference for you. Are you able to view the trichomes at a high magnification? Sorry, I forgot if you already wrote an answer to that question. Anyway, the more amber trics you have, the more couch lock effect/body high you will have. More cloudy, more heady. (the dif between couch lock/head high can also be strain dependent)
If you can't view the trics, you can check out the pistols. They are all going to turn orange/brown and recede back into the buds as the flowers near their peak maturity. That does also happen to a lot of the pistols during flowering, but at the end, they almost all turn.
