What do you think your water is doing to the microlife?? Ph it with whatever works. I use phosphoric acid. Water ph'd wrong with it, yep it will kill them. compost worms don't like too much acid either. I have red wiglers for making worm castrings and I put a few in every pot over 1 gallon. I look for them when the plant is done, it tells you how healthy your soil is/was. I always find a couple. Part of the problem is people's knee-jerk reaction to the word: chemical. Well what about Organic Chemicals???? just like the plain truth is, your plants don't give a damn what you feed them, as long as they can use it! Also, there are NO organic minerals.... they are chemical compounds and or elements, being found in nature doesn't make them organic.
A lot of people don't know but, mineral based nutrients require chelation to be usable. Most are chelated using organic means. The problem with bottled nutes ( mostly ) is the crap they add. Vitamins and hormones are more toxic to your plants than 90% of the "chemicals" used in nutrients.
I grow organic because its simple and and works consistently. I'd say my organic grows are pretty much all the same, I know what to expect from my plants. But I also grow in coco with Growmore nutes. no one has ever been able to tell the difference, and I tested with 20 people. Not a one could tell.
ohh and here's my greenhouse grow, all organic, RO water with GH ph down and or baking soda for ph up. Soil must be healthy, the plants are!
