Dutch Passion 2Stoned2Care Does DP AUTO BLUEBERRY+Autopot #2

Well done on sorting it bro and uve enough spares by the looks of things to last awhile

Thanks @Bailey yes i have got spares but thats really not the point,if my tv stopped working i would not expect them to send me some parts so i can fix it myself lol.but i suppose thats what you get with buying cheap leds.
after my initial shock i am actually glad they did because now i am thinking about changing all the leds on the 2 mars 300w for 3500k white leds.i wanted to use cree cobs but i have had so much hassle buying things abroad i only buy from the uk now

Thanks for popping by :pass:

you can get crees in the uk

also, look into bridgelux/citizen, both make chips that are essentially on par with cree.

EDIT: actually, they both make chips that outpace the best crees right now, and depending on where you are in the world, are cheaper.

OMFG i love you hahahahaha found digi-key in the uk that sells every type of cob.so which bridgelux/citizen are better than the cree 3590 ?

the new vero 29s (gen 7) should be, but i'm not sure they're in stock yet, might be a couple weeks still. from what i understand they don't bin, unlike cree, which means that you might get a chip that underperforms relative to datasheet (but also one that overperforms). either way, gen 7 vero 29s look like really good cobs.
the citizen clu048-1812 and clu058-1825 are probably the most direct competitor for the 3590. the 1812 matches it and is cheaper, the 1825 beats it at about the same price. there's also the clu048-1212 which isn't quite on par, but is so cheap you could more than easily match a 3590 for less money. as far as citizens go, none of this is true for digikey, which is very expensive for some reason. citizen makes great tech but they have weird business practices.

either way, if you're comfortable with costs of 3590+proven track record, go for it. you're not going to be saving or upgrading by very much, whichever you go with.

poke around the diy section, there are more knowledgable posters than me over there.

Aw yeah bro I totally understand ure point it's a good job ure experience with soldering has helped I also have soldering experience and after reading this I'm buying a iron just incase that day ever comes.
Yeah you can change the spectrum now though if you please

You have to make sure the drivers in the mars will run what chips you decide to put in it. The crees match them pretty good. 3500k chips for all around grow. I did the same conversion ripper did.
