@Fuggzy my diet basically consists of only fruits, roots, and meat. So I eat a lot of raw fruit, vegetables are almost always root vegetables (cooked) I don't eat hardly any cruciferous veggies, and preferably red meat. I do consume pastured dairy products as well. The only "cheat" foods I have are the pastries I eat when I make them haha. I live by the 80/20 rule, if I do right 80% of the time, I can play 20% of the time with no ill effect. I am a big advocate of the idea that saturated fat is actually good for us and polyunsaturated bull shit they tell us to eat is actually the bad stuff. Everything I believe about nutrition has evidence supported by human physiology and biochemistry. I wanted to be a doctor before I decided on engineering so I do a lot of research haha. My girlfriend doesn't eat produce so it's interesting to live with her. At least I know when I buy the expensive organic produce she won't eat it lol! The guy I initially trained under is over 50 years old and he's super buff/ripped, can deadliest over 600lbs, and is just always happy and doing amazing shit. His diet is really about listening to the body. Some days he eats as a vegetarian, some days he eats a lot of meat, some days he fasts, it's all intuitive. I tried that plan and it did not work for shit for me! Then I started reading ray peat and he said eat more sugar, drink your coffee, don't eat greens, eat mostly saturated fat! I was like wtf?! But thankfully he has a phD in endocrine physiology and had very detailed reasoning to back the things he was saying. So I gave it a shot and wow my life has changed dramatically. I eat a lot of sugar and carbs and saturated fat and essentially avoid green things like the plague (besides sweet mary jane). All my ailments went away. I had had hormonal issues, digestive issues, and energy production problems...all gone. My scoliosis is structural so there's no fixing that, basically just trying to slow down the damage, but it sure does help to have all the other stuff sorted out!
Also I do believe in mind over matter, I do a lot of research on neuroscience, the brain is an incredible thing! However, I was more talking about the idea that I believe environment is a bigger influence than genetics. For instance, a buddy of mine started having severe digestive issues (around the same time as me) He and I both have genetic predispositions to poor digestive health. We both got diagnosed with IBS and crown's disease. He looked at it as a death sentence, got his gall bladder taken out, is on several medications, and still lives in a lot of discomfort. I decided I wouldn't let my genetics control me and I didn't need surgery or western medicine. I changed my dietary lifestyle completely. It took roughly two years before I had complete symptom relief. It wasn't even that hard to do as I eat plenty of saturated fat and sugar! I enjoy the food I eat, it tastes good and feels good! The main thing is that I got independence, freedom to live. My buddy is dependent on medication to make him feel half way decent and has to take fiber supplements to give his bowel movements some solidity because he has no gall bladder. A different example I could think of is the Rhino's I'm growing. I have one that's a runt and another that's a monster, the environment is the same so genetics will dictate everything. However, if I put that runt under an LED/HPS combo, added some CO2, dialed in my nutrients and climate conditions perfectly, played her music (while not playing the other music), etc. I bet you she would say "fuck youu bitches" and power up, growing far bigger than monster I call Rhino #1 (monster being a relative term as Elvis's gorilla glue would make my "monster" look like a shit stain).
Anyway, I did end up adding fish fert to my feed today at 5ml per gallon. It is recommended on the bottle to use 30ml/gallon. So I'm going to work up to maybe 12-15mls and then start tapering down as I increase bloom nutes. So my feed today was 40ml/gal soil activator, 20ml/gal alpha thrive, 10ml/gal Buddha Grow, 5ml/gal fish fert, 3ml/gal calmag. I fed a quart (946ml) to each girl. I was mixing everything and letting it bubble for a couple of days before using thinking I was doing good, but now I know my pump isn't doing much I have changed the way I'm doing things. Plus I read on most of my bottles it says use immediately after mixing lol! So now I bubble the grow for 12 hours and then I add everything else in right before I feed, today I let the other stuff bubble for about 10 minutes, gave it a good stir, pH'd to 6.5ish and then fed the ladies. I really wish I hadn't watered so heavily before my beach trip, it threw off my feeding schedule because they weren't as thirsty as I thought they would be. Anyway everyone is healthy and female and I have 80ish grams of LSD-25 to stop my bitching right in it's tracks!
Also I added my HPS in since we's got pistils
