New Grower 2nd grow, Purple Mazar again!

Hey all!

I'm starting my second grow. I'm not going to keep a journal this time, at least not a super detailed one. I'll post some pics here and there though. I'm sure I'll run into some problems again so I thought I'd get a post going.

I had good success last time with a 4.5 oz yield from three plants. This time I'm hoping to get better quality by focusing on only two plants of the same strain.

Last time I had a lot of trouble with acidic soil and mg lockout. Also, though delicious, my buds were pretty fluffy. There was a lot of height disparity btwn the two strains plus three plants is kinda tight for my set up. So I'm hoping this time I can get the lights closer and better coverage with a little more room, and hopefully tighter buds.

What's different this time is:
I'm using 1 liter bottles instead of party cups until sexing. Like the ones

Also I have cal mag this time, as well as lime for the soil before I planted.
I got a flushing agent
And I'm going to do 3 gallon pots instead of two (see if there's a big diff)
OH! and I'm using seeds I produced last time, which is nice.

To review:
OF soil
Trio nutes
200 some odd watts of cfl
2x3 stealth cabinet

I'm 2 weeks in already, I germed 4 seeds, one sprouted yellow (again!) the other three are nice and healthy and popping out their second set of leaves. Hopefully I'll get two females from what's left.

I'm looking forward to the fun and beating my last grow in terms of plant quality and health (it'd be okay to beat the yield too, not very realistic though, haha)

WEEK 3

I transplanted the other day, everything went smoothly. The 3 gallon pots look a bit absurd at this point, especially since last time I used 2 gallon pots.
I'm happy to report of the four I started with I have two females, which is what I hoped for.

I did have a question. Most here say to start feeding around week three, I ran into this last time as well. Since I just transplanted to fresh OF is it necessary? And if not there's almost no point in veg nutes it seems, since by the time the soil is used up they'll be in flower.

I planted into wet soil so I won't be watering again until like a week given how big the pots are. I'm debating 1/4 nutes at that watering.

Since planting in the fresh OF you probally won't need to feed right now. Good idea starting at 1/4 strength, cause that soil can be on the hot side.

i got a m.p.g. thingy on the dash of my car and it also reads 66.6 consistently. freaks me out man, whenever i spot it i either gotta slow right down or foot to the floor to change it.
plant is looking great bro, wont be long till you cant see that pot :smoke:

I'm going to check out you grow, nice box! It looks a bit deeper than mine.

Man you got some purple buds! Nice. My last round of Purple Mazars were pretty much green, except for some purple hints here and there. I'd love to see purple this time, but the seeds I'm using came from my green pheno plant.
How was the smoke on the gems? The PM is really fruity, smell and taste wise, which was nice at first but I wouldn't mind a little skunkyness after 3 months of smoking it. The high is solid though.

WEEK 4

Its my day off and the growing is easy.
Here I am into week 4. My plants got their first serious watering and 1/4 grow nutes. Looks like I have a bush and popsicle phenos. Hope to see some serious purple with these, though the seeds came from a pretty green mother, which was the bushy variety, the male was def not bushy. Anyway, things are fine temps in the high 60's runoff was a tad low 5.9 & 6.2. I put a pretty hefty amount of lime in the soil mix, I was actually afraid of having used too much. I guess next watering I'll add some more. I don't have another grow worth of ffof so I may try another brand next time.

Its crazy how much growth happens in a little over a week. Last grow they were bigger by this time. I am trying an 18/6 light regime this time last time was 20/4. Probably go back to 20/4 next grow. Here's some pics!
