2nd Grow, looking for some opnions.

Greetings AFNers.

i am bout 60 days or so in to my first and of course am starting to plan my next grow.

Some frivolous details..

My current ‘Lab’ is a 27x27x60 in a closet grow, i have one ‘Skydancer’ in a 5 gal fabric (truth be told it’s probably like 3.5 gal full: just being transparent) and she is taking up like nearly ALL of the space with only her.. I am just doing some minor LST tying down and tucking before that since this is my first grow and i wanna ‘just observe‘ primarily this first go.. no Defoliation or Super cropping…Im running in Super-ish-soil that i custom mixed with FFOF and FFHF as bases and some organic amendments and some other macro goodies.. been perfect so far!

i am going to do another round of beans when this grow gets harvested: circa starting in March after all is said and done with drying and tent clean cycling…

so my questions are…

should i stick to my original plan and germ two beans next run ? Yes, stuff two in 5 gals fabrics in there! (I have considered looking for some 3 Gal fabric pots as well, but my kit came with the 5s so this is the game plan…unless i find some 3Gals in the next month)

Also, should I stick to those same guns to run the same cultivar B2B and really learn her traits and habits and possibly train more heavily to increase yields? based on a recommendation for beginners i had planned on doing this strategy.. but after seeing a few other Labs i am wanting potential variety in my stash.. Like would gals/guys run another Skydancer? and really get to know this cultivar?

or

Is Variety the spice of life: and would you do it how i am leaning today?

do two beans, but dig into some other varieties in my vault of goodies? Thus essentially Id keep learning on the fly AND up my stash variety (which is honestly where I am leaning)?

thankfully there is no wrong answers and all opinions are welcome!
Thanks.

I wish I was one of those people who could become a genius at growing a single strain, but variety is the spice of life.

Here's my advice: If you're happy, I mean really happy, with Skydancer, keep one in rotation and use your other spot for something new. You'll learn to push that plant in ways you never dreamed!

I have grown a few strains that I really like, but one I really want to grow again is Chick Magnet. It took over my first grow closet, which is about 2.5x4x4.5. It's funny because I put it on the flowering schedule way too soon, just to fill the spot. That plant grows like crazy!

We have a shed outside that my wife used to overwinter tomatoes in but she said I could have it! So now I have a place to put monster plants too!

I think I'm just running my mouth, sorry. I don't have any real advice for you. Just do whatever's fun and interesting. And keep trying new things.

After all, it's not the smoking of cannabis we're addicted to, but the growing of it.

I'm with rasterman. If you like what you grew try it again. You can use your second spot for trying new things.
I am always growing an ultimate indoors in hydro and when the weather warms I'll try something new outdoors in small pots.
Fun to go through old bag seed. One of them from a few years back grew some excellent smoke. Wish I could've reversed it or crossed it with something but I had no idea it was going to turn out so well. Short, dense like nothing I've ever grown before and very stinky. The buds were colored brown and when the weather turned colder, they changed into purple. Still miss her. I wonder what she was. Some of the seeds sucked though. Had a few that smelled like cat piss and didn't taste very well. Whoa, sorry for the long story.

I can't wait until tissue culture and culture storage are cheap enough so that regular people like us can save samples of everything just in case. That would be a game-changer imo.

No more saying, "Why didn't I back it up?

Thanks.
I have the exact same size tent you do. Just finished 2 autos in 5gal pots and will be running 3 autos in 3gal pots next. It was a bit cramped because I barely trained them, but it worked out just fine. This next run I'll SCROG them to help with training and space.

Good to know regarding the 2x5 gals at least fitting in there. Im hoping i can do a better job of training on them. This run has been pretty smooth sailing and i am super happy with my op thus far. I *think* i have a grip on how/when to train tuck tie..may be forced to apply some HST and defol/loli super crop.. all on the table next run.
Going to see if my soil recipe needs tweaking in the next month. Kinda excited to mix up a cpl batches up again. Kinda excited cause its been all water only and a super chill grow.

thanks for the dap.

I would find the two (estimated) smallest strains you got and go for it!

@Suki813

I plan to augment this line of thinking: i’ll do two new cultivars that have similar ’timers’ with regard to seed to harvest timelines.. should equate to the best of both worlds. If they both germ same ish rate…

@Orion that was an option, but i thought my first few stashes should be varied, that will influence the 3rd time… the one that us supposed to be literally ’filled with charms’ know what i mean?
