New Grower 2budz “In over my head” grow

For this grow I'm doing 5 strains from @Jean-O and 2 from Mephisto. I changed up my soil this time, I usually run Happy Frog but I mixed it about 60/40 with Ocean Forest. I will only be using Gold Leaf AIO nutes with Fish Sh!t, probably at lower doses and feeding every water. We will see how that goes. Direct germ in soil. Light is Spider Farmer SF2000. Wish Me Luck!

I'll be interested to see how this turns out... You have a pretty wide range of genetics in this grow... That mango smile is supposed to stretch!

I’m about a month away from starting my 2d grow indoors. I’m thinking about using fox farms soil too. I’m reading about as many negative things about perlite as I am positive stuff. Do you use it? Thoughts? Oops: I’m in 5 gal fabric pots using fox trio.
Perlite works fine... It just doesn't last as long as other options if you plan to reuse your soil...

It’s the 4th tallest plant behind both the kush kush and a Duke from jeano. It’s also one of the least impressive of the bunch. It’s frosty but it’s the oldest and not putting weight on like the others. The double grape is shorter but packing on weight nicely. Both the voodoos are really short compared to the others but I have a feeling they’re gonna fatten up really well.

I really need a bigger light in this tent
They’re all stacking nicely but I think the ones on the edge could be better. Plus the main cola is kind of leaning towards the light on those plants. I’ve been trying to find a light local but I think I’ll just order one on Amazon. Some pretty good deals going right now.

I picked up a Viparspectra P4000 for my 2x4 for what I felt was a very good price last month. I like to have a light that covers the whole footprint of the tent so I can keep it closer to the plants and dial down the wattage.

If you have not watched the Build A Soil YouTube channel 10x10 grow series... Do yourself a favor and watch it .. at least season 2. If you are going organic next grow it will be so freaking helpful! I am giving the earthboxes a run with my next grow... But I also really like the idea of putting a raised bed in my 2x4 grow tent. I just wish I could decide how to run some sub irrigation in it... Might just buy a couple of the city pickers "earthbox style" planters... They would probably completely fill a 2x4 tent.

My tent being square makes it a little more difficult to find a light to cover the footprint. If I had a 2x4 tent I have the perfect light already. I guess it would be cheaper to buy a new tent than it would a light but I prefer square tents.

What is the size of your tent?

For a home grow that you want to keep somewhat hidden... There are 3 size tents to look at. 2x2, 2x4, & 3x3. Now the 2x2 takes up the least space, will be the cheapest to set up and cheapest to run. It will also be the easiest to hide you can also find a lot of really affordable high quality lights to cover this space. But the big downfall in my mind is you can run 1 maybe 2 plants in a 2x2 which doesn't allow for much variety.

A 2x4 is going to be twice the space of a 2x2... So you can grow a better variety. It is only 2ft deep so you can easily access everything in the tent from the main door. It still sits tight against a wall. I really like a 2x4 tent. For me the biggest drawback is it is harder to find a light to fill the footprint. Yes you can get a lot of good lights for a 2x4 but if you want a good quality bar style light... You are almost better off to buy 2 lights for a 2x2.
The 3x3 sits a little further away from the wall... And it's not quite as easy to access the back of the tent as a 2x2 or 2x4 but it's doable. The benefits of a 3x3 is a much wider choice of lights and there is 1 more square foot of space than a 2x4. I think you usually get a little more head space than a 2x2 or 4x4 also.

This tent is a 32x32x63. I also have two 2x2x3 tents. I run 150w lights in the 2x2’s, I’ve run bigger lights and smaller lights in those but 150w seems to be the sweet spot. 300w would probably be sufficient for this 32x32 but those tend to be smaller and I want a light that physically covers as much of the tent footprint as possible. Those seem to be in the 400-500w range.

Decided to stop being lazy with this tent. In all honesty I wasn’t super impressed looking into the tent at the voodoos. They’re only 10-11 inches tall and very leafy. I’d considered throwing them out to make some room. I’m glad I didn’t.

Of course pics never do plants justice. The leaves were hiding a pretty amazing little plant. There is almost no space between the nodes. She’s gonna fatten up so well.

Gonna make a run at defoliating the whole tent but it’s gonna take a few hours. More pics incoming.
