Hi everyone - New to the site and to this hobby. I just got my tent setup, it's a Mars Hyrdo 24x24x55. I measured the from the light down to the top of my 3 gallon pot and have about 2 feet for grow height (leaving 12 inches for my light during flower). My Growers Choice auto's should be here next week but realized that these are medium height plants and from what i've seen, a lot of them exceed the 24 inches i have available. I'm planning to LST in a super soil (have both Happy Frog and Black Gold organic with fert) but need the expert advice from this site for help. Is it possible to get a smaller plant using a 2 gallon or is there no difference and i should go with a 3? I'm planning on starting with 2 plants for my first grow. Any other suggestions will be taken into considerations also based on my size limitations. Thanks in advance!

I'm also in the process of doing some time studies and notices that the tent is in a room with my furnace. That said, the temp rises when it kicks in and will eventually lower when the AC kicks in (summer). I'll do more studies to learn about the changes in temp/humidity but will that effect the growth of my plants? The humidity is in the upper 30's until i get my humidifier next week but the temp is stable in the low 70's. Preach folks, i'm a sponge.

@Duceduck :welcome:Welcome to AFN:welcome:Your environment will be a learning adventure as each one is individual. It will change from season to season. The goal is to provide the best environment we can for the plants to thrive. They do that with 68°F night time 78°F day time RH >40% and <60% with lots of fresh air. Sounds simple enough doesn't it. Well hang on to the handle bars as it can be a wild ride. I have a humidifier, a de-humidifier, an oil filled heater, a variable speed exhaust system on a temperature controller with charcoal filter, a 16 inch oscillating fan, a 5 inch "monkey fan" The swamp cooler on the house The central heating and AC, and last but not least a sliding window to the outdoors that I can regulate the air flow with.

The most inexpensive valuable tool for your environment is a simple remote Temperature/RH meter with big in your face numbers. Put it where you can see it. Depending on your budget the The Pulse One is excellent tool and you will learn much from it but it is expensive when you are just getting started.

Have Fun!

Welcome to AFN @duceand to the addicting hobby of growing. Myself I have 3x 5gallon fabric pots ina 32x32x63 or 73 cant remember its 5ft something tall and i scrog most of the time to keep em lower.. I would search around here for grows with 2 and 3 gallon bags. Also, you could YouTube videos just to get a idea of size.

I've grown once in a 3 gallon fabric and she was a medium size girl around 2ft n half from dirt.

If you are really pressed for space height wise a scrog net could help you out.
