About 40 years ago I grew photo period plants several times, with the peak being about 15-6 foot plants in my back yard. I stopped smoking for a long time but now want to grow some plants for medical use. Even though my cannabis growing experience is limited, I've had my own vegetable garden for years and start many of my vegetable plants from seeds indoor and transplant into the garden.
I plan to buy 10 regular Dr. Feelgood seeds, start them inside in Jiffy 7's then after a week or so transplant them into pots and, depending on the pot size, because I won't have a lot of room under my fluorescent shop light setup (4-4 foot bulbs side by side), either leave them inside another week or move them right away to the outside (38.5 degrees N, coastal US).
I want to grow these plants for seed, so my emphasis is that they produce mature seed as quickly as possible so that I can grow about 30 more, which is my legal limit. So I don't need a huge amount of seed--the emphasis is on speed of harvest for this first batch.
I'd be grateful if some of you would critique my overall plan, and I'm especially interested in ideas as to what would be my ideal pot size for getting a quick harvest from Dr. Feelgood. By stunting them in small pots, would they mature faster? If so, how small should I go without harming their survival? Will adding "bloom" type nutrient to my packaged high-grade potting soil speed up or slow down ripening? And any other ideas you might have.
Thanks, and I'll keep posting as I go, but as for now, I haven't even ordered the seeds. (Any problems choosing Dr. Feelgood for my first autoflower attempt?)
