New Grower 1st TIME DWC/SCROG - BUDDHA MAGNUM

MrBonez is now following you AND TheGreenBandit on the scrog grow.! just keep us updated with pics bro... this is going to be interesting for sho.!

Day 5 Update:

Realized this morning that my humidity is VERY low (16%). Rez temps steady at about 75°. Ambient temp around 85°.

I'm not worried about the rez temp but the humidity is of course an issue. I will purchase a small humidifier and attach it to a timer. I will then tinker with the settings until I get a consistent humidity around 50-65% through veg, and 40-50% throughout flowering.

There's not a pic (yet) but I have a 600w MH about 6 inches from the top of the bucket. That would put it about 7 1/2 - 8 inches from our little lady and I'd say she's taking it well.

Would anyone recommend anything specifically to approach the humidity issue?

I recommend a Vick's cool mist humidifier. That sucker cranks out cool moist air and is pretty inexpensive.

EDIT: If you can use distilled water as the minerals in tap water end up as a fine dust all over everything. I don't think it's harmful but it can clog pre-filters.

Absolutely will do, thanks! I saw 'lykaboss' liked that post......lol.....a lot of what I've been learning has come from his youtube channel. Shout out to lykaboss lol! Thanks for stopping by guys!

I have a wardrobe set up and found that the humidity was way too low during veg, so i hung a teeshirt up and soaked it once a day, worked like a charm and didnt cost a penny lol.......im no expert but id be a bit careful with 600w bulb that close to a seedling bro.

Day 6 Update:

So I went downstairs to check on things and find out that my water heater is leaking pretty badly right outside my grow room. I do some research and call around and find out the damn thing needs replaced. That said, I have to shut things down for a day or two and move the little lady into my bedroom until the plumber is finished doing his job. Grrrr.....:slaps: At least I know that once I replace it, this won't be an issue for a long long time.

However, I finally figured out how I'm going to build my net so I will be posting pics of that once I'm finished. Got some new goodies in the mail and I'm still trying to figure out what exactly will be the best bet in terms of LED wattage. So many options.

Day 7 Update:
I'm not the type to waste any time and hell....I'm on vacation from work lol. That said, and about $800 later we have a new water heater....which came right after a whole new furnace and ac unit......glad that shit is over! You can see the weird hobbit door behind it....kinda. That is the door to my grow room. my house is over 100yrs old. However, my plant is in a spare closet in the spare bedroom that is being remodeled. Also pictured is the WallyWorld humidifier I just picked up. I will show pics of the updated setup later on.

As for Tashonda....That's right....Tashonda. I'm sure shes getting ready to take off. The little leaves popped out a little more overnight.

I do have a question today: Humidifier inside of, or outside of the tent?

I have mine inside, but it gets sucked off by the outlet fan pretty quickly. Not sure if moving if outside would help. I'd try both, it can't hurt!

Day 12 Update:

Some explosive growth has taken place since day 7. I'm still struggling with getting the humidity in my tent up to or around 50%. Its holding steady at 30-35% but I can't get it any higher. Any ideas? I'm also contemplating switching to 20/4 light schedule to make her stretch a bit more. Other than that......no issues to speak of. This is like the calm before the storm....before you know it we'll be drowning in a sea of bud sites :help: . I never did an update after my first res change. Ph was 6.0 and I pushed her to 800 ppm. :twist:

Hi Indianajones,

I would look at keeping the light out of your bucket. I do this with thick black polyethene. Cut a hole in the middle of a sheet that covers your bucket lid about 1.5 inch in diameter then a slit from the hole to the edge so you can slip it over the plant. This will help prevent algae growth in your water.

Regards cain1.

PS I would not get to worked up over low humidity the plant will sill grow ok. Maybe plant will just drink bit more. Also look to lower res temps if possible.
