New Grower 1st grow / 4 seedbanks / coco / TSW2000 / GHE Trio

Day 6

I have not given them anything today since the top hasn't even dried one bit and since I'm out of the danger PH I figured I'll wait till tomorrow.
The LSD and Diesel are clearly not doing well, Hope the LSD pulls through because I was excited for that strain.
I do have more seeds if it needs to be replaced, on the other hand some people say 4 plants will fill a 3x3 (but I'm thinking that's when you know what you're doing lol).
The other 4 plants some are still a little on the pale side around the edges but I feel like those 4 are doing better then before.

On a side note I wanted to order some Mephisto seeds but are those strains not more for experienced growers?
I keep throwing money at new seeds and I havnt even grown one plant yet lmao.

I feel your pain. For my third attempt, I started half ILGM seeds and half Mephisto seeds. After reading about Meph’s great genetics (and concerns about ILGM’s), I figured I’d do a test run side-by-side. So far, 3/4 of each have gotten a good start. One meph has just a single twisted first real leaf, and one ILGM seedling is showing BARELY VISIBLE true leaves still a week later. The other 6 are already working on second set of good leaves. We shall see.

I have never gotten the sense (from reading) that Meph strains are harder for new growers. If anything, it seems they’re more robust and therefore forgiving (my impression only - I’m sure real growers can chime in). It seems there is more strain-specific guidance for Meph, too. Just as you have done, I’m trying to eliminate seed source as a cause of the first failures.

Yeah like mine, the LSD came directly from barney's farm sealed and date on the box but that one looks the worst haha.
once they're behind this early most people would probably replace her.
Or I even see people growing 2 seeds in 1 pot and keep the best one lol.

I didn't know much about mephisto, I found out about them and then noticed they always have limited stock.
But I'm very interested in tasting their strains, there's a couple available for me at the moment.

2d ago 5.6 EC / 5.5 PH - today 5.6 EC / 5.6 PH

LSD 0.32 EC / 6.0 PH - LSD 0.33 EC / 6.4 PH
DSL 0.36 EC / 6.3 PH - DSL 0.38 EC / 6.6 PH
BB 0.34 EC / 6.3 PH - BB 0.35 EC / 6.4 PH
WC 0.38 EC / 6.5 PH - WC 0.4 EC / 6.5 PH
GSC 0.32 EC / 6.4 PH - GSC 0.32 EC / 6.3 PH
SG 0.32 EC / 6.4 PH - SG 0.32 EC / 6.3 PH

Why is my runoff data not changing at all??
I am feeding 0.56 EC and consistently the runoff stays below 4, some have been .32 on every reading.
2 are behind and 4 are growing but only 1 looks normal in color.
At this point I feel like I should start over once again >_> or just sell my equipment before I get charged with seedling mass murder

I know nothing of coco, so I’ll leave that to the experts. What has NOT changed across all your grows? Water source is my first thought, but is there anything else consistent?

The only thing that stayed the same was the water and ph down,
the initial problem was probably the PH because when I think about it,
the PH has been out of the Iron/Calcium/Potassium range, that doesn't sound good... lol

Having had an up-close view of pH issues, I bet you’re right.

My stunted plants from the second grow have been transplanted into Happy Frog. While I have also adjusted my watering and increased soil intensity, I have been shocked to see some of the plants grow significantly. We’ll see if they can produce anything, but the vigor is a 180 from the shitty alkaline soil.

Keep making adjustments. You will get this figured out!

Yeah it seems like a monkey can figure it out faster than me!

I guess if they're still growing and you have the space for it why not lol, in the end they will just be smaller but might still produce good buds.

If you would be so kind to explain how I should pre-saturate the coco before planting seeds.
At this point it has no use if I try to find the information myself, clearly half of the information is wrong.

3 of the seedlings are ready to be tossed out and I need to start over again *shrugs* First the yellowing and now the tips are burning.
I use Plagron coco which I thought was good to go but clearly I need to flush the PH down significantly.
Do I need to add nutrients and calmag to flush? Or do I add it after flushing? Idk, so please share your knowledge with me : > thank you..

Every post of someone who “threw a seed in dirt and neglected it” is giving me serious doubt as to my intelligence, I hear you (My spouse was skeptical as to why “stoned teenagers could do better” than I with a doctorate in science...).

One thing I did with that stunted batch: I divided them into 2 groups and then changed the soil for half. I figured a control group/test group could at least teach me something (3 days later the difference was very noticeable so everyone got new soil). Maybe try that with half of your seedlings? Make some water adjustment ‘more significantly different” than maybe you are inclined to, and see if it helps tease out the issue?

I have learned this on my first two grows:
1. I had shitty soil
2. I was underwatering
3. I was under-lighting (MAYBE the first batch were light burned, but looking back I bet it was a function of the soil/underwatering and less that I blasted them with light. 24” and 25% is a lot, but not lethal based on so many experienced people here. Even the revered Bruce Bugbee talks about how resilient seedlings are to high light IF water/nutes/soil/temp are inline...).

Don’t give up. We are both going to figure out what we are missing, then we will both enjoy years of successful grows (and eventually look back on our rough starts with a smile...eventually.

When I was running coco the flush would be mixed at where I wanted the bag to be, and then run through till I saw # more to my liking coming out. The beauty of coco...
