New Grower 1st grow / 4 seedbanks / coco / TSW2000 / GHE Trio

I did the same. Didn't use calmag to presoak, only used ph water and Recharge. And what's in your coco does matter, especially when they're seedlings. It's the reason why most people feed only ph water with very little nutes, if any at all. I used only water and recharge the first week, and didn't feed until day 4 because I presoaked my medium. Day 1 feed of 1L for a seedling sounds like a lot, tbh. Your baby is probably establishing her root system at the moment. Just because you don't see much growth above ground, doesn't mean she isn't growing. I had the same anxiety the first two weeks of my grow. Those thoughts quickly changed over the weeks. One day at a time, gromie :smoking: If you haven't yet, I would take some time to read up some articles on cocoforcannabis.com. They have a ton of resources. Their resources gave me a ton of confidence throughout my grow.
The thing is that I already tried twice in soil and there I was getting stunted plants. Long story in the infirmary lol.
Yeah that's a great website Ive read every article in 1 day lol.
They also say you can't overwater coco and it should be saturated at all times, I probably would have let them dry a day longer at this stage but with the PH needing to drop I have to water them. But the coco isn't soaked, I forgot to mention I added 20% perlite aswell

Hey Jaydot and everyone!! I'm new 2 the site as I'm awaiting auto seeds and my experience is Dwc closet grows with photos.

Anyways, you mention perlite in your last post. Is it mixed with the coir or lining the bottom of pot? I think the no pre soak is throwing things off for you. They say seedlings are good for a week or two because the people saying that are in poting soil, which has a little something somthin in it. You are growing hydro, so once the seed cracked and shed it's shell there's nothing except what you give her. I'd shoot for ph of 6 run- off so water going in should be lower. You said your a numbers guy, how much are you feeding volume wise in water a day? Try feeding at 5.5 or lower maybe? I'm sure there's some kinda equation here that would apply!!!

Sorry 4 long 1st post but I got stuck on your journal after registering, lol. BTW, They look decent 2 me I for one have total confidence your gonna knock this grow out the park!! Looking forward 2 following and learning/meeting you all.

Ps, don't forget foliar feeding for quick remedies

Runoff EC is still the same. between .32 and .40, PH is SLIGHTLY lower between 6 and 6.4
But I gave them water at 5.5 PH 5.6 EC
They all grow normally I think but 2 of them seem to be going yellow.
Considering the 1st runoff was 7 PH I wonder if that was the problem...
I'll write a report with pics later after dark cycle.

Perlite is mixed. I did presoak but without anything added to the water.
For watering I wanted to water every 2 days 1L, but since the runoff was so high PH I gave them 1L a day and got 20 - 30% runoff.
Always below 6 PH, maybe I started adding some nutrients too late, but they already looked wrong after 2 days so its hard to believe its a nutrient issue. Perhaps it was a PH problem? I see people growing 6 days without anything but water. I'm so confused lol

Color is more than likely due to your pH being out of range.

Easiest fix with coco is to flush with a mild mix at the appropriate pH value until what's going in and coming out are closer.

Gotta check the pH and ppm of whatever (soil or coco) medium your planning to use prior to planting.
Over the years have been caught with soil that was improperly mixed or coco that was not washed fully.
Now the habit is checking medium pH when the pot gets soaked waiting for seeds to germinate.

This is such a good plan - I’m adding it to my “pre-run” checklist. My first two attempts failed because of bad soil.

So now I feed them
1ml calmag 1ml micro 1ml gro .5ml bloom and about 3ml ph down to go to 5.7 PH - per gallon
I dilute it down a bit before using ph down so it reaches .5 - .6 EC

I only gave plain water for the first 2 days, then calmag, then nutrients on the next days.
But the PH was 7 at run off for the first couple days aswell, I just read you shouldn't read PH runoff so I didn't bother too much.
I believe even at cocoforcannabis they don't talk about run off ph.

Anyway some of the plants don't look too good, would this happen if they sit in 7 PH in the first days of seedlings?
Picture 6 is the only one that looks reasonably fine, they do seem to color darker from the inside if you look at the core.
Maybe some will recover, picture 4 seems to be suffering the most, unfortunately that's the LSD plant.
However for now they seem to be growing normally.

In: 5.6 EC / 5.5 PH
Runoff:
LSD 0.32 EC / 6.0 PH
BB 0.34 EC / 6.3 PH
DSL 0.36 EC / 6.3 PH
GSC 0.32 EC / 6.4 PH
WC 0.38 EC / 6.5 PH
SG 0.32 EC / 6.4 PH

Readings are very similar to last time, PH is dropping slightly, I guess at this point the PH is out of the "danger zone"

Yeah... one day I'll get it right LOL I thought 3rd time was the charm

Day 6

I have not given them anything today since the top hasn't even dried one bit and since I'm out of the danger PH I figured I'll wait till tomorrow.
The LSD and Diesel are clearly not doing well, Hope the LSD pulls through because I was excited for that strain.
I do have more seeds if it needs to be replaced, on the other hand some people say 4 plants will fill a 3x3 (but I'm thinking that's when you know what you're doing lol).
The other 4 plants some are still a little on the pale side around the edges but I feel like those 4 are doing better then before.

On a side note I wanted to order some Mephisto seeds but are those strains not more for experienced growers?
I keep throwing money at new seeds and I havnt even grown one plant yet lmao.
