Hello AFN,

If you want to see a rookie's 3rd attempt on growing autoflowers, look no further : >

Lamp : TSW2000 (300Watts) + T600 (100 Watts) wanted to add the 100 extra watts during flower because why not.
Tent : 3x3 - In and outline fan - 3 20w fans - humidifier
Substrate : Plagron coco Premium
Nutrients : GHE FloraTrio (Hard water) Biobizz Calmag (I have more nutrients and willing to buy more buy since I'm new I'll stick to the basics)
Water source : 0.4EC / 210PPM after ph down to 6.2 using Nortembio (composed of citric acid), it brings down my EC from .5 to .4.
The FloraTrio hard water set has less calmag in it to balance the hard water.
My water source contains 30mg of calcium/gallon but is very low on magnesium so idk if and how much cal/mag I should add.
I figured I'll add 0.5ml per gallon, if anyone here uses tapwater around EC 0.4 for autos please let me know what your experience is on calmag.

Seeds(autos) : Barney's Farm: LSD
Sweet seeds: Sweet Gelato
FastBuds: Girl Scout Cookies
Zamnesia: Wedding Cake - Blueberry - Diesel

March 11: Paper towel germinated in 24h, Zamnesia seeds wer last to open.
Saturated 11L pots with PH 6 water before planting. Runoff near 7 PH (worried about this even though some people say not to read run off PH in coco)
March 12 = Left humidity domes on for 2 days being 80% under the dome.
March 13: Day 1 - PH 5.9 / 0.40 EC / 191 PPM - Each pot 1L (20% runoff). Runoff reading 6.5 PH on all plants.
March 14: Added 0.5ML calmag / gallon - PH 5.7 / 0.39 EC / 190 PPM - Each pot 1L (20% runoff). Runoff reading 6.5 PH on all plants.

BB: 6.5 PH / EC 0.39 / 190 PPM Humidity stays around 65% - Temps light on around 25c / off 20c / 20-4 schedule - In & outline low speed - 1fan on inside
DSL: 6.5 PH / 0.56 EC / 280 PPM Only using the TSW2000 for now at 32 inch dimmed down to 70% = 210 Watts
WC: 6.5 PH / 0.37 EC / 157 PPM
LSD: 6.5 PH / 0.32 EC / 161 PPM Funny thing to mention is that the Zamnesia seeds all have different readings while the other 3 are identical.
SG: 6.5 PH / 0.32 EC / 160 PPM I'm certainly curious what the reason could be.
GSC: 6.5 PH / 0.32 EC / 157 PPM Also I'm unable to drop the PH even after feeding at 5.7 they're frozen on 6.5...

March 15: 0.5ml calmag - 1ml micro - 1ml gro - 0.5ml bloom / 1.5 gallon (6L) (to start with a weaker feed) = PH 6.9 / 0.6 EC / 300 PPM
Planning to use this feed for 1 week per 1 gallon. + 2.5ml ph down = 5.9 PH / 0.51 EC / 258 PPM

BB: 6.5 PH / EC 0.37 / 182 PPM Each 1L = 20% runoff
DSL: 6.5 PH / 0.48 EC / 239 PPM Again, the run off data is 6.5 PH everywhere, can some coco grower explain this to me?
WC: 6.5 PH / 0.4 EC / 204 PPM
LSD: 6.5 PH / 0.32 EC / 161 PPM Perhaps this has something to do with Plagron coco premium? their data sheet states;
SG: 6.5 PH / 0.31 EC / 157 PPM pH 6.1 - 7.4 - EN13037 pH (H2O) / EC 0.09 - 0.14 - E.C. (1:1.5) [mS/cm]
GSC: 6.5 PH / 0.32 EC / 160 PPM

I will try to update every 2 days, I'll keep track of all the data.
With that said I'm open for feedback or advise, I look like I know what I'm doing but I don't.
I'm like a black belt karate teacher but when I get into a fight I get my ass beat. (no offence to the karate teachers)

I added some pictures from today (2 days old), let me know if you think anything needs to be done differently.

Thanks for your time : )

Are some of your babies turning yellow?
They look quite bright yeah, 2 of them specifically, doesn't look yellow to the naked eye but certainly not the green I expected.
If this goes bad already after two days I'd love to know the fuck I'm doing wrong lol :s

I would probably take a photo to the infirmary, but based on reading your journal entry and your medium, 6.5 may be a bit too high for your seedling. I would dial it back to probably 6.2 and switch to 5.8 when roots are more established. BUT like I said earlier, I would take a photo over to the infirmary to get more opinions from growers with more experience than me :crying: . Very detailed journal entry, great job!

ok that mass of numbers is hard for me to read  im numbers dyslexic i swear:shrug: but from what i understand your feeding at a ph of 6.0 and your getting runoff of 6.5 this is not ideal but not in the range where you need to panic just water with 5.6-5.8 ph until you see the ph dropping to the point you want over the next few waterings i use plagron coco its usually pretty good for me so hang in there
also i pre charge my coco with calmag when im soaking the pot to runoff before planting the seeds or transplants il add 1.5 ml per liter
im not the best person to explain but coco holds on to calmag so you need to start with a bit extra so your not trying to catch up at least thats how i understand it you can still do this now just add very little other nutrients to meet the e.c (never give coco plain water )
my starting e.c changes from 0.2-0.4 depending on the season 0.5 e.c is good for a first feeding but id be pushing that to 0.6-0.8 see how it goes

oof, I was reading his entry wrong. Thought I was reading his feedings, not run offs :crying: :crying:

Great advice on presoaking @Trichome farmer , after reading his entry the right way, I would have asked if he presoaked. Although I presoaked, I had high variances in my runoff for the first 3 weeks of my grow. I would also recommend some benes like Recharge.

It was supposed to look more detailed but the post got cropped down lol.
I've been feeding 5.9 5.7 PH and been stuck at 6.5 for 2 days, so strange.
Do some of the seedlings look a little too bright to you?
It's just so confusing because often people feed plain water for the first 6 days and I already need to worry about feeding more after 2 days.

I did not use calmag to saturate, just ph'd water, the reason being my tap water holds 30mg/gallon of calcium and plagron is supposed to be prebuffered aswell, so didn't want to overdo it. But regardless of what's in the soil, isn't a seedling supposed to thrive on its own for a week.
If anything I can add more calmag to my water I'm seriously confused lol

I did the same. Didn't use calmag to presoak, only used ph water and Recharge. And what's in your coco does matter, especially when they're seedlings. It's the reason why most people feed only ph water with very little nutes, if any at all. I used only water and recharge the first week, and didn't feed until day 4 because I presoaked my medium. Day 1 feed of 1L for a seedling sounds like a lot, tbh. Your baby is probably establishing her root system at the moment. Just because you don't see much growth above ground, doesn't mean she isn't growing. I had the same anxiety the first two weeks of my grow. Those thoughts quickly changed over the weeks. One day at a time, gromie :smoking: If you haven't yet, I would take some time to read up some articles on cocoforcannabis.com. They have a ton of resources. Their resources gave me a ton of confidence throughout my grow.
