New Grower 1st Documented Grow - Ryker604 does DP Glueberry OG fueled by Autopots/Biotabs

Ready for a major update? Because today we are turning the Autopot system ON :shooty:. From now on, only 4 girls (that are mine :smoking:) will have a place in the tent and we are starting some training, now that we have space (@budelee I'm looking at you, this grow will be to your liking ). Enough said, let's go to DAY 16:

The girls waiting for their trays to be ready:

While the girls were waiting they got a foliar treatment with Biotabs Boom Boom Spray - 100% organic bio-stimulant. Meanwhile, I started setting up the Autopot trays and reservoir which was a first for me (doing it by myself). And I must say, it is easy peasy :greenthumb:.
Put the filter in the reservoir and connect your reservoir and valve with the plastic tubing (you cut the plastic tubing by yourself):

After that layout the trays to your liking and cut the tubing accordingly. Then remove the black hose connector from the Aquavalve and connect the tubing to the Aquavalve using the aforementioned connector:

Once you have done this with all your Aquavalves and connected them accordingly, you can put them in their trays and let the fill with water:

And now you have your own working watering system :woohoo:.

After everything was set up, the tent looks something like this:

The girls (from top left clockwise: GBOG 2 - NL - GBOG 1 - GBOG 3):

And now for the fun part. Two of the girls were topped :tang: after the Autopot setup: GBOG 1 and 2. The main reason for this is that I wanted to experiment and the plants seemed mighty healthy, so why not? GBOG 3 was left uncut due to it's small size and NL was a friends decision and he said no. Looking back, I should have topped them all and it seems better to train all the plants in your tent, than just a few. We'll see :smoker1:.

Both of the girls were growing their 5th node and were cut to the third. Now for some BDSM porn :muahaha::

Pheeeew, finally done. After this it's mostly easy sailing as ALL SYSTEMS ARE GO :jump:. One thing that I need to mention (for the second time) is that I've maybe mixed up some plants and it's GBOG 2 instead of 1 and so on... But you'll excuse me for that I hope :baked:.

:welcome:

Thank you guys for all the kind word, glad to have you here! I'm currently at work, but I'll probably do an update in 6-7 hours and hopefully open the two other threads :d5:.

By now I have seen about 50 seeds sprout and all of them were pointed with the tap root down. 80% of the turned out to be nice, healthy plants :smokeit:. I get that in nature seeds fall down in all sorts of ways and sprout nonetheless. However, this got me thinking:

Anyone got any more precise/scientifically backed information about this?

Thanks mate, it indeed seems as a pretty decent setup, especially when you see the girls at day 20 . As far as the HomeBox Ambient is concerned, I only have words of praise. It is their premium (more expensive) line, but it really is worth it. Great reflection, double bottom, side windows for more access, many holes of different sizes... In comparison with cheaper tents, it's light years away.
yes its very important to place your seed down correctly. Over the years of growing autoflowers I have noticed if the seed is wrong it will get a root loop or a knot in the main root stem. All autoflowers that had a knot or a root loop where smaller in size rather then a properly placed autoflower seed.

Ah, i was always wondering of this strange thing now i know its name! had sometimes such auto seeds doing this strange stuff and they were really behind the others...another enlighting AFN moment! Thanks Elvis!

loving the grow looks good mate, that mix looks nice. so how do you control the feeding with these autopots? just on a timer? seems like an interesting idea never seen them before

:woohoo:
Finally some real traffic in the thread, thank you guys for the involvement :bighug:.

I didn't completely get this, how do you place your seeds in the end? With the tap root facing down or tap root facing up? Sry, lazy day, I'm a little bit slow :smoking:.

@Ryker604 , i hear ya loud and clear... subbed as im looking at autopots... Thanks bro:worship:

No, thank you m8, your threads gave me the courage to experiment with my plants . Stick around, there will be lollipopping, defoliation, self-topping, breaking of main stems and so on :bow:.

Once the reservoir is hooked up to the Aquavalves, they let 2 cm of water in the tray and a vacuum is formed in the Aquavalve. Once the plants drink those 2cm, the vacuum seal loosens and once again the trays are filled with 2 cm of water.

People who use mineral nutes add them to the reservoir, mixing them with the water, so the plants are constantly drinking water rich with nutrients.

However, I'm using the Biotabs organic slow-release nutrient line which is mixed directly in the substrate and I add only water in the reservoir. Once you've done the Biotabs mix and set up the Autopots, you only need to add water to the reservoir (approx. 1-2 times per week, depends how much the girls drink).

Hope that helps :d5:!
