1st attempt to clone aturoflower

So if this clone roots and flowers i can pollinate jt, but then i will need a male photo plant? Thats already creating pollen?

ummm i dont think thats how it works, you cant loose a trait that easily lol, you can breed the auto trait out but iit cant just be lost like that.

I dont have a picture sorry, but since it will be a small flower if it roots, then you can add pollen to it and it can produce seeds. but breeding requieres a male and female you cant just have two females and breed them together, unless you reverse a female with chems to get pollen.

So it this cutting roots and then it flowers i can pollinate it but to do that i will need pollen from a male photo plant right? Or am i wrong?

yes if it roots you can pollinate it but if it is a male photo, the the offspirng will maybe be auto or not, or maybe out of 100 beans 10 might be auto. it all depends as you will have to keep breeding for a set trait. if the male is a auto male then most likey all the beans will be autos.

Ahh! I see what you mean, how can i acquire male auto seeds ?

instead of buying feminized or fem seeds, buy regular auto seeds, grow them out and hope one of them is a male. there isnt male seeds like there is fem seeds

So i have to buy regular auto seeds, not auto fem seeds? Because im getting s little confused lol

yes regular auto seeds. will have male and female seeds. but you dont know what sex they will be until you grow them. fem seeds have only female seeds.

There's some confusion in here I think lol, maybe I can help a little :) You can take cuttings from autos, and they'll root, and produce a couple lil buds. They won't be clones in the traditional sense. Autos have a genetically predisposed life cycle, hence "auto". The cutting will be the same age as the donor, and will flower about the same time (sometimes + a week or two for delay with rooting). Cuttings from photoperiod plants become clones because of the possibility of infinite vegetative time. Cuttings from autos will still just flower and die.

You can still take cuttings for practice and experiments :) but it will hurt the yield of both the donor and cutting. It'll never veg indefinitely to grow up into a full size plant. The most you could do, and I have done this with varying success lol, is take a cutting early enough, root it, and then you can reverse it to make pollen (thus without reversing the donor leaving it smokable), or likewise pollinate it (thus not pollinating the donor, leaving it sensimilla).

By all means you're welcome to play and practice with it though. It can be fun, especially to see the cutting make its little bud-on-a-stick hehee :)

Thank you very much for the detailed information, i will continue to have a look at stuff online and widen my knowledge and then put it to test :) thanks again

Thanks. When I finally make some seeds (on purpose!), likely next summer. I may just give this a go, it'd mean I can get male pollen from fav strains that I can only find female. Having only one tent I'll be able to keep these little males isolated on a windowsill (under any light cycle - yay autos) until they produce pollen.
