ok a quick update ,i was vince noir on other boards ,due to a monumental cock up on my part plus the last year being a fucker to deal with (wife had breast cancer)i lost my log in details so decided to go with my other name ,monty flange ..so ..hi everyone ..

now then ive been asked by a fair few people about leds and what about those cheapo 3 watt diode ufos on ebay ..well the only way to truly give an answer is to try it out ,so as a treat for wifey finishing her chemo and radio i upgraded to a 60 x 60 x 120 secret jardin tent and a shiny new 135watt ufo from the bay ..to give a heads up ,ive been growing for 30 years in every way imaginable from outdoor guerrilla stylee in the 80s ,to aero /hydro indoor in the 90s ,then i saw the light organic which i have been for the last 12 years at least ,16 in my garden ..anyway all i wanted to do was see if this led would produce enough bud for me ,as im now the only toker in my house ,so i whacked in the tent a smellyberry x blackjack regular bean ,this was grown in my own homemade mesh pots ,1.5 litre of coco/compost mix ,then a couple of sweet seeds beans ,auto creme caramel ,auto s.a.d and an auto creme mandarin (love sweet seeds and have done a few grow diaries on other sites for their annual competition )

well moving on to the grow ..it was a truly half arsed grow from the start ,everything was done on 12/12 from seed simply to get a smoke from the smellyberry cross and to see what an led is like ..amazing squat growth in veg ,very nice i thought well then we got to flowering ..resin production like crazy ,oh and the only feed the plants get is oldtimer bloom from day 1 ,it contains enough nitrogen to feed as a veg nutrient ,and as i make my own compost i know it has plenty of microherd in existance from the start ..so by only feeding an organic nutrient the herd is kept happy as are the plants .

so here we are with some pics of a half arsed attempt to just see if its capable of growing some buddage folks ..and guess what ..it does .cheap as chips 3 watt bridgelux

Hey Monty, welcome to AFN! :smokebuds:

That's a very awesome thing you did for your wife. Sending green kharma for the rest of the grow. :wiz:

Happy fatheads!!

you liking the LEDS?

yes indeed agito i am ..but they make growing too easy by half ..im now so keyed in all i have to do is plant a seed and water/feed on a sunday ..then harvest it when i fancy a bit ..and thank you kindred spirit

Great thing you did for your wife mate and the grow looks fine lush green and full of drooling bud

i like to keep it simple si..doh ...sorry man couldnt resist that one .

this was a first time test to see if my led would flower ,now i know it does ,ive chopped everything out and got ready for the 1st proper run ,3 auto mazars in mesh pots ,reveg the smellyberry,2 x vinces experimental laos x leb x auto+speed ,auto creme caramel and a white malawi which will require the old 12/12 ,8 plants in total ..this should give roughly the same yield as a longer light regime grow with less plants ,but as im growing regulars in with autos at some point the autos will have to be satisfied with 12/12 ..but for now 18/6 all the way .

MF, would it be possible to put the link up for flea bay ??..........how much was the 135w led MF ??.............dose it have the 3 wire hangers on peardrop clips, that sort of thing ??.................. it must be a 7 spectrum ? dose it say about spectrum of light it produces etc ??............Qs MF..........How long as it been under from hatching the bean etc ??.............Nice little flowers Well done MF..........................AB.......

woaagh steady on ..i dont know the policy of this site for using external links ,if a mod can verify that its ok to do so i will if not ill pm you it ,the light was £108 plus a tenner postage ,it comes with the 3wire hangers on peardrop clips built in ..all ready to go plug n play stylee, its not a 7 spectrum as far as i know ..more like 3 or 5 ,on ebay it does tell you all the techy gumph ,those creme caramels were planted on july11th 2012 ..they couldve easily gone a lot longer but that was because i tried some plant magic evolution late in flowering ,which seemed to have kickstarted them to go back to fresh budding again ..and this was really half arsed ,not even 12/12 most days ..more like 10/14 then the last couple of weeks 14/10 to help reveg the smellyberry cross .
