Indoor 110v or 240v?

Is it a major job to install a 220? Or is it pricey to have a pro put one in? I'm in the U.S. I know it depends on location, I just want an idea of how major the job is? Thank you

Wiring for 220 is no harder than wiring 110. Should cost no more, except for the correct sockets are a bit more expensive, than wiring for 110

My ballast has the option to use 120 or 240. I'm in the U.S. I wrote 110 previously but it's actually 120 or 240. So will the 120 be ok if I'm using a 110 outlet? Thanks for your help everyone

Yes, it will be OK. I am sure you do not need higher voltage, you had better think about strong timer, 1000 w is beyond capabilities of simple timers, no matter if they are declared up to 3kW.

I Hope I explain this so you'll understand because I am pretty baked right now ! :smoke:
Its not a higher voltage that you require .... Your residential 110/120 v wall plugs are usually on a 15 amp circuit breaker , so the worst that could happen is if your circuit is overloaded the breaker will more than likely trip (or blow a fuse if not a breaker panel ) indictating you are using more power off the circuit than it can handle ! So in regards to your 1000 watt ballast , if it is running at 1000 watts at 110/120 v the most you'd be drawing is 8.3 amps which still leaves you some play on the circuit that your wall plug would be on .....considering there is no other electrical plugs or lights that are on that same circuit ... Your best bet for any new installations would be to add some 20 amp 110/120 v plugs (I would use the ground fault protected ones)on dedicated circuits ! Hopefully that helps a bit ! I have no idea what the going rate for electrical work in the US is so I couldn't tell you what it would cost for a pro to do it ! Where I live its roughly 150 $ an outlet installed ......I hope I didn't throw a bunch of gibberish at ya that didn't make sense ! :peace:
