Ya, I did a full mix…2 lbs of Grow with 1 gallon of water. Did the same with Core. There is enough for a few runs.
I gave them both some fertilizer this morning and will give them water the next. I hope I don’t burn them out, Fox Farms I know too well but do not have any experience with Athena. We shall see.

So I don’t know if the ferts are too strong for the Athena plant. I mixed it per the chart, 2 lbs per gallon of water and fed her so she’s on schedule. To me it kind of looks like over watering, what do you guys think?
On the other hand, Fox Farms is doing great.
Leave me a comment and let me know what you think is going on with the Athena plant.

I think that Athena plant is locking out, and stunting. This usually happens with autos when the N is too high, too early. Hope it helps….
I’ve had limited dealings with Athena in the past, and was left with the feeling that their feed schedule is pretty hot.

What EC are you mixing your feed to?
How many ML per gallon of core and grow stock mix are you adding to your gallon of water to feed with?
I don’t do ec, never have and never had a problem like this right off the bat. I followed the chart. I may have had the dose high.
I’m gonna give her straight water for a couple of days and see if she bounces back.
Definitely gonna need to invest in some way to measure it out.

I agree with Frank, my plan because I’m in soil is to run at 25-50% to see how it responds first. I’ve never run a nutrient at 100% except for mega crop in late flowering and only because my pots wet small and getting all the food depleted faster than they should

The old school autoflower rule of thumb, when trying an unknown nutrient…is to start at 1/4 of the recommended dose on the manufacturer’s feed chart.
You can always increase….

That batch tank mixing procedure I gave everyone will allow you to select the feed strength that you desire
So you mixed 2 pounds of powder with 1 gallon of water, that gave you your nutrient concentrate.
Now from there when you go to feed your plant, you are going to take 1 gallon of water (or however big your watering can is - for this example, we will say 1 gallon)
For a soil run, I would start off at that 1.0 EC target. Like frank said you can always turn it up.
So take one gallon of water in your can, and add 10ml of bloom and 6ml of core.
Stir that thoroughly and you should be good to water your plants with it and not have any issue
Obviously checking for EC and PH before doing any watering is best

Thanks for breaking it down for me, I really appreciate it!

I think she is a goner…
I think the chart is too hot for autos. I am going to drop another seed and try again, at half strength.

If you are referring to this chart, it’s not necessarily too hot for autos, but I do think you need to tailor it to your system.
I run anywhere from 2.0 to 4.0 In a DWC.
I would definitely recommend starting at 1.0 EC for the soil, every other watering and see how it goes.
Sorry you had a rough start on that seed brother, but I’m sure you’ll knock it out of the park with the next one.

And she’s out for the count…1.,2,3
Just started another Apples & Bananas to give this another shot. This time I am going to start at half strength and work up from there are she gets bigger.

Looks like she had damping off to me.

No.
If this had been a dampening off, the seedling would have fallen over, due to the stem rotting at the soil line.
This plant got fried because the feed schedule is too hot for seedlings, and too hot for autos.
A safe starting point would be to start at 1/4 strength and increase from there.

Test #2 begins today with the new Apples and Bananas came up last night.
I am going to give her about two weeks before I start feeding her, let her get her legs under her.
Same setup as before:
Strain: Multiverse Beans Apples and Bananas
Pot: 5 gallon fabric pot
Medium: Sunshine Mix #4
Light: 600 watt dialed down to 20% right now, but will be increasing soon as the other one is coming along and she is sharing a tent with a couple of mates.
Nutrients: Athena Proline
I think that’s about it. Thanks for stopping by

Woke up to a shriveled up sprout. I didn’t swap out the dirt and it may have been holding onto the nutrients, so I am gonna toss this dirt into my bin for later and start from scratch again.
To be continued

Day 24 for the Fox Farms run. She got bent over this morning and also got some Fox Farms Cultivation Nation Veggie. As always, Fox Farms doesn’t let me down.
Here are a couple of pics
The seed for Athena just broke ground this morning too. Let the fun begin!
