I love them looking like small bushes, for day 25 they re ![]()
Yes thanks man, that was a nice grow!
Thanks king much appreciated buddy ![]()
Curious what your watering strategy is with the trays? I always find I can’t turn the reservoir full on.
Ok back from out of town with a couple updates. Two days after planting the seeds i convinced myself to just grow two plants. Fridge is full and I don’t need the hassle of harvesting 4 is all and I love space in the tent. I knew this already but kept pushing myself to grow 4
(seriously kids, get ready to argue with yourself when you’re old) Nothing had sprouted so I picked one Mephisto and one Night Owl and threw the other two away. Been gone since Tuesday and didn’t see them sprout but they look to me like they probably sprouted late tues/early wed so I’m calling it day 3
Pots have been sitting on the tray since seeds dropped and I filled the res with extra so I didn’t have to stress while gone. Emptied out old batch and decided to rinse and clean the mat too just in case it was soaking in high ph by now. Better safe than sorry and I have the time to be picky so I rinsed it in plain ph’d water and letting it dry.
Ain’t gonna lie, it was pretty awesome to leave looking at dirt and come home to healthy sprouts!
What happens when you have your res valve all the way open? My valve is open and mats wet 24hrs a day. I will shut the valve ahead of time though when a different feed mix is coming soon. I’ll let the res and tray empty then add new
The moisture levels in the rain science bags stay to high and then I start to see over watering symptoms, fungus & slime on the root barrier sheets etc.
Typically I release water from the tank monitor soil moisture and shut it off when the moisture level % is back at capacity. Let it dry back down to around 40% and repeat.
When they’re really up taking more water I’ll just turn it on and leave it for a few days.
Oh I see what you mean. Yeah I get the slime and all that every grow man and have never had a problem. Just part of the territory as far as I’m concerned.
You’re just straight coco too?
Yes right now I’m finishing a bag of 70/30 perlite mix but just coco no soil
I see no effects in the coco itself, just on the root sheet and bottom of pot. Expected since they’re sitting in still water
And exposed to light, every pic of healthy plants I seen on tray to grows have green on the roots.
Day 5..I forgot to switch the light timer on the other day so last night was their first night of rest. I’ve run my lights 24/0 in past and recently 18/6 and found no difference so this grow I’m going to 16/8. That’s another 60hrs a month off the electric bill ![]()
Light is about 28 inches high and running 60% which is approx 350w for DLI of 28ish. Some high tech pest control happening too
hi there!
looks great!
please tell me, what does the cutting do with the flowering? they just continue or they took their time…and if..how much…curious waiting
de humble sparrow10
Good morning I’m sorry sparrow but I don’t understand the question
I think they wanna know if the lollipoppin’ stalled them any.
… I’m curious about the pruning you did on your plants. Did it delay the start or progression of flowering at all, or did they continue flowering normally without any noticeable interruption?
If you did notice a delay, roughly how many days would you say it set them back?
Oh I see, no the pruning and defol do not hold up flowering at all! I prefer to not cut anything until stretch is starting and then I have two choices. If it’s a bushy plant with lowers getting no light and they look weak then I will prune the lowers I don’t want and then when stretch is complete I’ll defol every fan. If the structure allowed lowers to have been getting light and they’re growing strong, I’ll wait until after stretch is done and do all my pruning and defol in one swipe. I just don’t cut anything during the veg stage before preflower starts, I let em live their best life with no stress.
Did you get your planter on a tray yet? Looking forward to seeing how it goes because I’ve always wondered how soil would work with bottom feeding.
As long as they hit their Dli the number of hours is almost irrelevant.
