Thank you :pass: :jointman: :baked::pighug: . I was gonna dump her out it I'm doing another cycle in the earthbox just to see what happens.
What I plan to do in a later grow.
If you have the time, maybe sow some sort of cover crop for a few days. That'll give ya time for the microbes to eat up the roots and give your worms something good to eat when you chop it and put the cover back on. I planted some barley in one of my outdoor girls EBs. Been cutting them back every other day. Making some good food. It's what I have on hand for making SST. I don't know what barley root structure looks like. I've used lots of different cover crops when I was farming. Early on, I used L-bon rye as a mother crop for the hairy vetch I planted for nitrogen fixing in the topsoil. L-bon rye has a very fibrous and bulky root structure. It's very useful in getting some carbon in the soil and it protects the vetch thru winter.

What I'll do is plant my cover and trim it every other day. Let that run for a week or so. I'm transplanting, so when I drop the seed in the little plastic planter, I'll stop cutting it back. Roughly days 8 from sprout, I'll chop it down hard and I'll transplant the seedling once I see roots at the bottom....very little wrapping around and throw some bokashi on the chopped cover crop and put the cover on. This will also give the box time to dry a little to help the transplant's roots search. I hold back on filling the rez until the roots get fairly well established and only fully fill after she's fully drinking the rez in 72 hours. The Asian Haze got to a point of drinking the rez in less than 48hrs.

I'm eager to see how you manage the replant!

@WildBill thanks man I'm definitely planning some cover crop but my window is not that open for it since I'm planting soon. This will be the 3rd grow in the eb jr. So we shall see how it goes.

Yeah, I know what ya mean. I have this box planted with cover crop, but I don't want to run this girl in that media. I let it sit too long with water in the rez and no plant in it after the dismal rot got it. It needs sterilizing before I bring it inside anyway.

Ohh I see I got you, that damn rot man it sucks. Oh yeah you had a eb outdoors.

New grow is going already. Did the usual topdress (BAS craft blend & buildaflower) and added a bit more of the coast of Maine stonington mix soil.

This is gonna be updated aswell in the brother mendels thread
