Drying time ?

The latest episode of buildasoil YouTube grow he talks about drying for 16 days or 14 can't remember and that way there's really no need to cure just jar for a day and it's ready.

Good luck :vibes: :jointman:

Yooo all , I’ve been drying my autoflowers for the last week in my tent , I’m on day 8 now and to me they seem way to moist still.. ( stems bending still , no snapping.) The temperature of the room is roughly 16/ 19 degree, I don’t no the humidity as I have been guesstimating pretty much the whole time of the room but I have my carbon filter fan on half way power. I was thinking of whacking it on full power and moving the air circulation fan closer to the buds .. I hang dried for 5 days then become to trim all buds of plants but then realised they were still to moist so are now drying on big try’s in the room… any thoughts ?
Here's the factors that matter
Did u leave pot to dry b4 chop ?
Did u remove large fans ?
Are u exhausting correct ?
Is the intake air lower Rh than inside tent ?

How I dry
Day 1 total dark 28/48 hour as whole plant
Day2/3 remove plant at base of soil then remove all large fans and sugars with a visible stem
Day 3/4 section the larger buds up and remove any large main stems
Day 4/5 6/7 keep eye on rh and place sectioned buds onto dry rack till you can hear a slight crunch when I squeeze a bud rotating daily
Day 7/14 check for rot and over dehydration reduce or higher the Rh an temp accordingly
Once you are confident that they are ready jar them up and keep them below 20c in TOTAL DARKNESS for that ripe pungent perfect smelly green gold I hope u can get us some pics of how u get on good luck

If the plants have been hanging for 8 days and are still too moist, I would go ahead and cut the buds off the stems. The stems are acting like a reservoir to keep the buds damp. Put the buds in a paper shopping bag and work on getting them dry.
I live in Georgia, USA and at night our humidity jumps up. Right now at 6:21 AM the outside humidity is 96%. Yesterday afternoon it was 52% .
If the humidity jumps up at night where you live, you can put the paper bag in a closed container at night. When the humidity % drops during the day you can open up the container and let the buds dry at low humidity.
You need to get them drier or else you may see bud rot or other mold affect some of the buds. A fan blowing at the buds will also help dry them.
I'm assuming you do not have air conditioning.

Yeah I ordered the mini circle ones think was like 10 pound for 3

Yo bro I got humidity metres today the room is sitting at 71% and at 18/19 degree, the buds seems a tiny bit drier today but not to much… I have now got the fan closer facing the buds on low…

If you get a hygrometer I highly recommend getting a Boveda calibration bag. Just pop the meters in the bag, seal it, and let it sit overnight. Then you will know if they are accurate or off a few %. It calibrates to 75%rh so just go from there.

Even the best hygros I've bought needed calibration. The better ones are adjustable but the cheapies not so, but, knowing the % difference makes the cheap ones accurate-ish.
What humidity should the buds be sitting at in the jar ?

58-62% depending. There are boveda packs with different percentages. Typically the 58% and 62% are for cannabis.

Once it's hung and dried fairly well I like to put one boveda pack in the jar with a hygrometer until it reaches the % I want. If it's way high then burping the jar is needed. If its a couple points low the pack will rehumidify it nicely.

The packs are two way so if it's a bit high it can absorb moisture as well. I'm not sure how perfectly dried buds look and feel yet so I use the packs and meters to help me. Once there, I've been sealing the buds in Grove bags to cure.

Complicated but ensures I get the job done right as I'm inexperienced.

I see, yeah I tried jarring I’m up earlier with the hygrometer in the jar earlier and it was sitting at 73/74%and the buds feel way to sticky still so I have left out to dry another day and have ordered boveda packs (62%) which should be here tomorrow.. it is a pain in the ass, Just shows how much I have to learn aha
