Greetings to all you wonderful people!:bighug:

I hope that you enjoy this journal, I will try my best to keep it short on the text as I ramble loads. Any commentary, advice, criticism and love is welcomed with open arms. This is an experimental grow to try and ramp up my skills for the beginning of the season!

This is the first time I am growing seeds from a seedbank, I am really excited. I am pushing my luck, with autumn heading in soon, however being in South Africa our cold months only really start in May. I plan to finish before then!

THE SET UP:

These lovely ladies are being started up in a little green house, until they are big and brave enough to face the outside world! Unfortunately I have to leaves these in their pots, for the ability to move the plants, for stealth and security reasons. Currently pondering on a fence around each pot, I have started pruning the edge of a bamboo forest by keeping them waist high. I will have my plants being covered from visuals on all sides. I'll thin them out if necessary to match the ladies height, this site does have full African sun exposure!

+ Freedom Farm growing medium (Mostly Ammended, my first time trying it, looks, feels and smells good! I have been in contact with the cook, and I trust his expertise...yes, I know there are no NPK values on, but I guarantee this is the best bought soil I have ever seen - SA is limited) I have added a bit of perlite.

+ Seedling mix, coco coir and perlite.

+ Freedom Farm Fabric Pots - 3x20L & 2x10L (I need to decide for myself what i'll use, this is an experimental grow, yes I know the strain gets big for 10L, lets see)

+ Seagro - organic fish emulsion which I have used for ages on my babies (May get BioBizz nutes later)
Fish emulsion info.JPG

+ Organicide - organic pesticide for those pesky pests

+ Kelp - extra noms (If its even necessary, I may use a diluted version in the beginning, may not'

+ Home made worm wee, and castings available if needed.

+ 5 x Critical + 2.0 Dinafem Seeds

DAY 1 - 23 January - Two seeds I germinated before hand by soaking them in water for 12, then dropping them. Soaked for the 22nd.

P1 and P2, their older sisters, seem to be doing well! they are looking a bit pale, not sure if I should give nutes or not?
Their roots should have grown through the seedling mix, and into the nutrient rich soil, by now. They are still in that greenhouse for now, until they start showing that they are Marijuana, they can stay. (to the untrained eye it looks like spear mint, at least to the people im living with)

I think i'll post pictures every 5 days or so...

Update before the weekend!

Its day 16 for these two ladies, and I won't lie, I was expecting a little more growth! Not sure if I am doing something wrong, about 3 days ago they were looking quite pale, so I have fed them some fish emulsion and some kelp. They have darkened up a tad since. I also had a stroke of luck and the residents on the farm have left me for a week, so I took this opportunity to put P1 & P2 outside! They've had two days of raw, sweltering hot sun! just put those clay balls to mulch a tad and aid that water to stay in while im gone the whole day!!

Sure, I am a little over protective (kinda like dropping your kid off at school for the first day, except this is in 33 degree burning sunshine, bugs and shit  ), while I don't have to hide the beauties I will make sure they are safe! Wish I could build them a bigger cage and let them live in it hahaa...

Here are the other three younger sisters, doing well so far! (Still in the greenhhhhouuuuse)

She looks pretty healthy, I shall peg her straight up tomorrow, OOOORRRRR Do I leave her to LST herself from such a young age???

Anyone got some advice about the white stem and pegging the little lady upright? and are the first two ladies growth slow, or is it me?

Anyhooo, shot for stopping by! I'll post again in another five days :D! Positive energy your way :D

Hey Greenskeeper...
Well u are off to a good start.

Sure if your little girl can't stand on her own u can help her stand up with something and when she get a little stronger take it away.

Hey there...I am excited to see how this strain grows for you!! I have a pack of Dinafem Critical 2.0 photoperiod, and will be starting a plant under lights soon, that will be destined for the sun once the weather warms enough!!

Good luck on your grow.

Thank you kindly for the input good Sir! I appreciate it a lot! If she isn’t up when I’m home from work, I’ll stand her up!

Aha! Please tag me if you do a journal? I’ll be interested to compare the two, I wonder if they’ll be vastly different in terms of looks, smell etc?

Giving them a head start under lights is always a great bonus! Wish I could do the same.

Thanks for stopping by, it is well appreciated mate!
