Tent Questions

Hi all...I didn't see anything specific on tent set ups and so forth...

So I'm going to sticky this thread for any questions and answers that you members with tents, can answer...

Also, if you have any pics of how your tent is set up, please post them...Pictures say a 1000 words...
Basically, as far as pics go, mostly looking for how yours is set up...Not so much about the plants...

Thanks for your cooperation and I hope this thread gets the attention that new tent buyers, like myself, can gain some info...:peace:

Hi guys, this thread seems like a good place to post rather than start a new thread.

Using a Secret Jardin tent DR60, I am totally confused by intake, fans, extractor fans, carbon filters, negative pressure and ducting.

So my questions...

What comes with the DR60 and what do I need regarding the above?

Can someone please link me to the best equipment regarding ventilation and odour control equipment please? I understand Rhino and Phresh make the best carbon filters but what size? What brand extractor /intake Fan? Ruck? What size? What about ducting? How much? Brand? I will just be ventilating into the room. Do I need anything else to attach the fans and filter to the tent or are these provided with the fans/filter or are they included with the DR60?

The room will be kept at a temperature of between 20-25 degrees Celsius. I will be using Blackstar 240w LED lights and growing in soil. Hoping to get 4 autoflowers in there in 5 gallon pots.

Thanks in advance!

Ok, you are asking very direct questions. Just know this. There is a common thread with all successful grows. Chances are that somebody has the answer. Look around.

2x4x7 Lighthouse Hydro Tent - 400w HID Lighting - 6" Can Fan S600 with Can Lite Filter for Exhaust - 3 Passive intakes on the bottom (total surface area just under 3x exhaust size) - Filter > Exhaust Fan (Intake side placed on filter) > Air Cooled Hood > Exhaust out of tent. 2 Clip on Hurricane Fans for Circulation. The exhaust fan is suspended by rope ratchets, and I'm using the hanging straps that came with the tent for the filter.

My temps were pretty high when testing yesterday, 81F - 88F, but I had a piece of ducting running between my filter and exhaust fan. After removing it and connecting the fan directly to the filter, I realized that I wasn't even achieving negative pressure. Now when I turn my fan on my whole tent sucks in like a vacuum, going to run some more tests today and hope that temps go down a bit.

Getting my first grow started soon, beans got shipped out today, and so the waiting game begins.

Going with x4 Dedoverde Haze, grow will be posted over in the newbie growers forum.

Nice set up! I am waiting for my first tent it comes as a package, looks good for the price. I grow for my and my wife's medicine so I won't be stuffing the heck out of it. It is 600 watt with 2 led lights, not bad for 691.00 total with shipping and no tax here in Oregon. It's from Grow Ace,I am on a tight budget budget so this at least gets me started and it suits my needs.

that's awesome I was just checking out the site. I like how it comes with two hanging LEDS and you can upgrade to a 5x5 tent for like 40 bucks. ..nice

I was going to put one together piece by piece and it got pricey real quick. Although with a set up like this the only thing I would change is for them to take away one of the shears away and throw a ph pen meter in there. That's about it other than than that it's the best I could find on the net I just stumbled onto the site. Mine is coming tomorrow:vibe: I am pretty excited. My first grow will be Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies, they give you ten 3 gallon fabric pots but I would rather use the 5 gal smart pots. I am only doing 3 because being it is my very first grow much less an auto grow. So I wanted to just keep it simple plant wise and take my time with a low number. I will have to do a grow log:growing:

Tag me when you doplease as I'm very interested in how the set up works. Might have to grab this as my second tent the 4x4 or 5x5 not sure yet. Buddy is offering me a 10x10 but don't know if I could afford the light bill haha

Hey bro, sorry I didn't see your post, I quit smoking cigarettes this past 11 days. After 31 years to just go cold turkey was horrible. Anyways I got the tent set up but unfortunately (I am am on a fixed income) I still have to wait until the 25th to get the rest of the stuff I need to start.

The tent is bigger that I thought it would be and (I have never even seen a tent set up much less grow in one) the 3 supports
on the roof come with three crossbars. The overall strength of those supports seemed sturdy enough to do the job but nothing more, the tent itself is nice and thick and durable looking. I am running my fan and carbon filter out side of tent just because it made me feel safer and it seems to fit in with what I want to do when I hang the LED lights. I fired it up and the fan was more than enough and it kept the light cool, the room mine is in is cold so temp wont be a problem. I figure I can do 4 in 5 gal smart pots
easily but I am going to only do three since these will be my first auto grow. The inside is nicely lined with mylar and there is more than enough light in there.

I think where this kit falls short especially if it happens to be a large chunk of money is that they give you a few things
that you don't really need like the different types of shears but no ph meter. Crappy 3 gallon grow bags that look like something would keep in your car for a garbage bag but no sockets for the LED lights. Other than that which are really small things overall. The customer service is great, they forgot to ship my hydrometer and I called the said ok and one is on the way the shipped it out two days and should be here in the next few days. I would say you get your value for what you pay for. When I get it up and running I will post some pics, gonna do some fast buds girl scout cookies. Peace

It's a day/night temperature controller.. wud b v handy for my tent.. I need to control temps through heat rather than extraction (tent in cold loft) and anything that I've seen designed for UK works based on controlling extraction.. which assumes of course that u have a high temps problem whereas I have a low temps issue, ie. Need the heater to kick in wen temps start to drop at lights off.. any help much appreciated

I use heaters that have thermostat built in. Set the temp and it shuts off when reached and turns back on when temps drop.
