Tent Questions

Hi all...I didn't see anything specific on tent set ups and so forth...

So I'm going to sticky this thread for any questions and answers that you members with tents, can answer...

Also, if you have any pics of how your tent is set up, please post them...Pictures say a 1000 words...
Basically, as far as pics go, mostly looking for how yours is set up...Not so much about the plants...

Thanks for your cooperation and I hope this thread gets the attention that new tent buyers, like myself, can gain some info...:peace:

Cheers bro, my heater has a thermostat just havent had a chance to get the temp dialled in due to the stealth situation.. kids lol!! That device i posted looks like the lazy mans way round worrrying about fluctuations and settings :-)

It's a day/night temperature controller.. wud b v handy for my tent.. I need to control temps through heat rather than extraction (tent in cold loft) and anything that I've seen designed for UK works based on controlling extraction.. which assumes of course that u have a high temps problem whereas I have a low temps issue, ie. Need the heater to kick in wen temps start to drop at lights off.. any help much appreciated

This has turned out to be the "best buy" piece of kit I threw into my grow room;

Aqua Medic Temperature Controller

I have ventilation as 'Cooling' switch, and heating as ... well ... 'Heating' switch.
You can set target Temperature and then the Min/Max ... which can be different settings.

For example ... I set my target at 26, the ventilation to kick in at +1, and the heating to kick in at -2 ... in other words, temps strictly regulated between 24 to 27 degrees.

It does NOT have separate day/night settings, but to be honest, with Autos, which a lot run on a 24/0 schedule, or even 20/4 ... the variance between day/night temps probably isn't as much a factor as when running Photoperiods on a 12/12.

Anyway ... have a look at the link ... see if it suits your requirements ... but I swear by it.

Hey Yozhik, thanks for the reply.. thats looks an excellent piece of kit indeed.. does your extract run on/off in line with temps then?? Am I thinkin about this right?? So at 25/26 you have no heating or extract on??

Correct.

If set up as described, at Target Temp there would be no relay triggered for either Cooling or Heating, as the tent temp is where you have set it to be regulated.

When I have had the controller set up with these parameters, the only activity in the tent is via multiple oscillating fans to keep airflow.

HOWEVER ... there are also ways I have found to tweak the equipment, to suit changing preferences.
For example, if I place the temp sensor closer to the lighting, or even just higher in the tent, I can get it thinking that the ambient temp is a little warmer than what it is, and have the extraction fans kick in more often, or even constant if desired.

I then have an independent hygrometer as a 'control' giving true temp/humidity in the room, to make sure my tweaking isn't screwing with the real tent environment.

I've got it now where every time I have a sneaky peak into the tent through the sneaky peek window, the control hygrometer smiles at me with numbers like 26.8 C and 42% RH ... and those are numbers I - and the ladies - can definitely live with!

Point being, this AquaMedic is a relatively inexpensive and simple piece of kit that can bring a whole lotta peace of mind.

Thanks again Yozhik.. are those 2 pin plugs for the heater and fan 2 go in? I'm in the UK. Is this for USA/Canada? Is the 2 pin thing a common fish tank fittings/gadgets thing?

I'm in the EU, so that's the local plug.
You should be able to find a UK plug controller at any UK aquarium shop or any UK retailer that stocks AquaMedic.

No ... but you're correct re: it's origin and meaning.
